Has anyone heard of Project Manager titles?

We do contractors because they can write their salary off as expenses.

We do contractors because the manager can blame the contractor for failures.

If this place were truly agile, the SMs would be managers of their teams and there would be no line managers or PMs. Just saying.

If we had managers that were smart enough and actually did something in tech besides sign our time cards, we wouldn't need most PM's. This bank is bloated with PM's. Why, because there are too many managers that have been here for so long, doing nothing, that they have no idea how to do what is brought up and needs to be taken care of. Thus, PM's. I mean think about it, why do the work when you can get an approval to get someone else to come in and do it for you so you can attend meetings all day and do nothing.
And the amount of contractors we have is crazy, but i guess that can be waaay cheaper

I sure hope so. Right now I have THREE, for reasons I'll never understand. Have the same exact conversation, three times per day, with three different meetings. You'll never truly know waste until you come to work here.

@kpw - Don’t forget the managers! I’m sure they’ll want to be Scrum Masters too!

@kpw, completely agree. Most PMs dont understand completely the true delineation between Product Manager, Product Owner and Scrum Master and will try to do all of them, replicating waterfall.

PMs that are not yet laid off will have to compete for Scrum Master positions when WF decides to make those positions permanent.

Scrum masters are simply in that role in a 'acting' capacity for now. These actors include Tech Business Analysts, QA Associates, and others.

There will soon be a vicious battle for the permanent position of Srum Master. PMs will participate in this battle as well.

It will be bloody.

I had heard there were several let go in Tech last week to join BAs, PMs, QA and soon architects apparently.

I guess they don’t want anyone checking the offshore folks work.

The regulatory people will never stop looking at this place with all these bad decisions.

Few of them were laid off last week in CLT and also many PMMs

I haven't seen or heard from a PM in half a decade in my tech role. I assumed they were already gone.
