Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Agile/Kanban failure

will lead to the end of Saul career at Wells. It’s a joke. The empire has no clothes and no one speaks up.

Thank you for recognizing what I’m trying to do here. I love San Francisco and was very fortunate NOT to move my young family here in 2002. I had already noticed the increasing disintegration and fifth, which gave me pause, plus the subsidies to vagrants, dr-g dealers, and homeless. The public schools were among the first to topple. Outside of Detroit, Chicago and Baltimore they are about he worst in rhe U.S.

I point out these high school graduates with 6th grade level or less education in the hope that I can make small difference. I do think that SF and really, California, are too far gone at this point.

Oh well… I’ve tried my best for 19 years to fight it by enlightening the masses.

Capital one, Citi, JPM, etc are all agile. Don't give me the BS we are a bank. Citi is running in two week sprints and don't have worthless project managers

When you put one person on 3 scrum teams, it’s going to fail for sure.

@1stt+1b12jfpS - no, I didn’t think it was you. I mentioned you in my post because I must admit it is a good candidate for your San Francisco public school comment :)
I don’t live in California but I have lot of relatives in San Jose. They have their kids in private school because San Jose public schools are not good.

I was a denier at first, but after several years here, I can vouch for agile working in transactional and operational systems. Yes, the teams start off clumsily, but in the long run reach a good cadence and thrive. I’ve also seen a few fail, especially the legacy analytic apps.

But what's the alternative? The Waterfall? It takes forever and quality issues tend to be omnipresent. I think some kind of an itterative blend is the best way for us.

@irr. Again, you folks don’t think. This is a bank, not a tech company. It’s a bank under regulatory scrutiny so yes, of course there is paperwork to cover the company’s a$$. Maybe think about what you are saying sometimes. If you want to join a tech company, don’t get a job at a bank.

If anything is clear, it should be that for every story point of actual work that helps the business/customer, there are 3 story points of BS and paperwork that the scrum team is not empowered to complete. This doesn't count entire teams whose purpose is BS and paperwork

Saul isn't the agile guy so why would it impact his reputation? We don't do agile well. Most companies don't. What does this have to do with layoffs?
