Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

People on Leave keep their job while those working Don’t?!!

It is RIDICULOUS and so unfair that people are out on leave (partying/traveling/practically TAKING ADVANTAGE) and they get to continue on getting paid and keep their job....while those working and being the front of the company don’t??!!! Why??!! Where is the efficiency and common sense, Wells Fargo??!! Those taking advantage should be the first ones to leave!! Not those working hard!!

Another youngster who doesn’t respect their elders. Some people just like working and don’t want to retire. I know a developer still working at 72 and dogs post holes on his land on weekends. Just cause you’re older doesn’t mean you’re useless, my friend. Yea, some folks have physical problems where they need time to recover but not everyone. I’ve known disabled people who outwork the rest of their team.

It's sad that our peers judge others by being high risk. I was one of those people and I didn't party, do spa days or hang out with friends, I was in isolation and it was depressing. Grow up and just keep living you will get sick one day.

Known individuals get laid off while on short term and on bereavement leave here. Dont assume they are safe.

65% pay is totally worth it to avoid going into a branch in which a manager kept saying that its all a hoax. A manager that breaks all rules concerning social distancing, the safety of her bankers to fit her needs.

I don’t know anyone who took short and then long term disability from being sick but I know at least 3 who claim they are depressed but very happy when they don’t work and still get paid

OP hasn't bothered to look at the requirements for different leaves. And OP doesn't know me. I've taken both medical leave and caregiver leave. Both are benefits available to any employee. I needed medical leave for cancer treatment, and I can tell you it was no party. I took caregiver leave to assist my dying mother. I didn't get paid all the time I was home, but was glad to have the time I spent with my mother in her last days.
Don't demonize those of us who are using benefits offered to all employees.

I’ve had people on leave at full pay for a year thanks to them being deemed “high risk”, then go onto the recent special leave at 65% pay, able to cash out their PTO.
Meanwhile I could take my PTO due to staffing shortages and lost 60 hours of it unable to do a thing about it.
The “high risk” leave allowed them to go to day spas, vacation, shop for houses and basically live it up for a year.
I’m sure there were people who genuinely needed this leave, but from what I know of first hand there’s a lot that abused it.

No they’re not. They will more than likely be let go when the leave ends in September. Those jobs have already been posted to be filled. There is no job protection or benefits with this leave. Only 65% pay.
