Is it just me or does the morale seem really bad right now? Less email communication, etc. This is an awful work environment - why do anything?

I left tech for the business side in the last year and couldn’t be happier to leave that dumpster fire. I am actually around people now that know why things work the way they do and support their teams instead of throwing buzzwords around, changing direction every time they do a reorganization, dumping experienced people, and hoping something will stick rather than stink.
Yes
Moral is at a all time low in my group
I’ve tried to stay positive for the past 3 years... however I must say, it’s been extremely difficult these past 9 months. I feel like Im on a roller coaster ride and not giving any warning signs when sh$t hits and slapped you in the face. Taking a big toll on my mental health and trying to stay motivated that’s for sure.
With Leaders leaving and ‘retiring’ notifications every few weeks, my management group are delivering what feels like bipolar messages... ‘we care about your development, your growth, diversity and inclusion, building partnerships, etc. one day to ‘why are you making it your problem’ the next...w-f.
Definitely getting to a point that dusting off the resume may come to play very soon. It’s sad because I do love what I do, I believe in the firm, but the inconsistency with Leadership is very demoralized.
Of course morale is bad. There’s no communication and no job security and worse, there’s no end in sight.
Some people are content to do their jobs and get paid and aren’t too worried, and that’s fine, but most are in toxic environments created by fearful managers who are only worried about their own jobs.
I am. My manager is so scared he can hardly get a sentence out without stammering or screaming at someone. I would feel bad for him if he wasn’t getting paid to be a leader.
Why would morale be good?
Well, in the part of the bank I work in, morale has been low for years.
I'm lucky because I've never experienced good morale (whatever one's definition of that is), but we work hard and get compensated fairly. Therefore I don't know what I'm missing I guess. No complaints.
This is great! We get to play hooky for the last year. I have been doing the bare minimum and getting by perfectly! Just make sure I am not on any list or report and live life to the fullest from home, while Wells Fargo pays me and my bonus! All is well here! Enjoy it while it lasts!!
I love how people downvote someone saying 'I'm having a good day', as if having a good day is somehow unacceptable. My guess is, said downvoters are the actual source of a "toxic environment" that people talk about here. I mean seriously, what is wrong with you when you can't be happy unless other people are having a bad day? personally, I hope every single WF employee has a great day today. If you're not, that sucks, and hopefully tomorrow is better!
Its all designed this way to drive natural attrition! The more people who quit, they more expenses they save. Figure it out yet?
Its at or near Rock Bottom! Nobody cares about morale!
No problems in our group.
But we also all pull our weight so...
You are probably supposed to do things to get paid
The people around me seem normal too. But we all are working from home so that is a good thing!
Lot of emails.. but all are worthless
I'm having a good day. The people around me seem normal.
