Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

The harassment from the management is part of the culture

I know that there are a lot of things that are very wrong with this company but I never thought that this level of harassment towards the employees was systematic. To put it more simply I just thought that I had a bad stroke of luck and that my manager was an as----e. A couple of months I transferred to another team and I thought that the days of harassment were behind me only to be faced with the same level of micromanagement, toxic methods, yelling, threats. When we look at the site of this company it’s almost frightening how many employees could be affected by such methods.

@1qzz+1ajiQmsA Where are these beach jobs? Are you saying that we have branches on beaches? Please let me know... I have been planning to step away from tech to branch banking because I’m older, have always enjoyed working with people and the branch banking jobs are just so easy and relaxing. Knowing how everything actually works would surely make me a superstar.

@1upk. Don’t worry about my English dahling. I am not the one who is worried about losing my job. In fact look at Wells execs how many are from the US? And we are continuing to take over. Deal with it.

@1upk. People who do not speak English are those who take your job away. You and your grammar will be at unemployment office soon

Lots of victims on this thread

By harassment, do you mean management expects you to do your job and earn your pay...

The days of just collecting a participation trophy and a pay check are over

Definition of "toxic methods"? Also, micromanagement is actually exhausting and the last thing 99% of managers want to deal with. If a manager is doing it, it's often because their reports have demonstrates that they will violate policy left/right without it. If your boss is legitimately yelling at you, call HR. I say "legitimately" because I've been eye witness to "non-incidents" in which a person claimed another person was "yelling threats at them", when in actuality the person was telling them what they needed to do to stay policy compliant...which the listener took to be "threatening" to their job (if they didn't do things the correct way). Anyway, when they reported it they made it sound like yelling, which it wasn't, and threats, which they weren't-thappens. I'm sure actual yelling has happened as well, and that's what HR is for. Personally I'd laugh at anyone yelling at me at work, but everyone responds to these things differently.

This is the first company I have ever seen these behaviors. Pretty scary. Like the technology and everything else here stuck in teh stone age. This though is real and even worse, pretty scary it still exists.

Working in a beach sounds so much better. Just remember to always use sunscreen.

This is more of a Retail Bank problem. Once I got out I never saw this issue. But every team I worked with in a beach had this issue. It was mostly set in place from our DM and RBP.

Only WF has constant coaching, constant observations, constant feedback going on to its retail employees. Its definitely a culture that still hasn't changed.

I haven’t seen harassment, but I’ve seen discrimination take other forms. Managers who play favorites, surround themselves with a clique, and ignore and exclude anybody who is not in their after work drinking group.

The good old boy’s club isn’t dead, it’s just gone underground.

Only time i've run into bad management is when they hire them fresh off the street from some place else. Employees who've been at the bank for a while are very good. There's a weeding out process that's done. So yeah your post is Fake News.

good to hear leadership knows it exists, they should put them in jail

Leadership knows they have a harassment/discrimination problem. That’s why they make new employees sign away their rights to sue.

Who do you people work for? All this complaining and I've never witnessed or been a custom to this harassment. It's funny people want to make braid strokes when it's isolated.

the harrassment is definitely here and it is beyond inhumane. There is something wrong in the heads of the sick managers and staff. Sick workforce for sure.

It is actually a violation of employment laws in fact.

There's good managers here. I've had about 10 managers here. About 6 were excellent, and only 1 an absolute nightmare. Sure that's how it as most companies though. I've seen a lot of subpar employees hired in the last few years, make sure your not one of them.
