Layoff vs Burnt PTO...?

There is a real possibility that WF will lay me off this year.

If I take all my PTO now, and then get laid off (before I've earned all my used PTO back), do I get charged for that used PTO on my last paycheck?

I looked in the employee handbook but couldn't find anything that spoke to this.

if you are going to retire or you think the axe is imminent, never use PTO. Burn personal holiday days, carryover, volunteer time etc. first. At least then you can pad your final pay day with some sold-back PTO. That $ will come in handy.

Yes if you’ve used your pto that was not yet accrued, you’ll have the over payment deducted from your last paycheck- this is the same whether you’re laid off or voluntarily resign. They give access to all the pto for the year as of Jan 1, but it still accrues by paycheck monthly.

amd on the reverse, any accrued you haven't used they will pay out. you also won't get paid any personal holidays so make sure to use those beforehand.

You payback any unearned PTO. They will send you a Bill.
