Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

It’s amazing

How people let Charlie take over their lives so much. If they use the time and energy they devote to bashing him to find another job they would be on their way out long ago. Must have too much time on their hand and nothing better to do than thinking about Charlie 24/7

OP is right, in that there are people, often seen here on this forum, that clearly have CS living in their head. I very very rarely think of the CEO, but some here are clearly obsessed. I mean, if you're wasting the time to write poems about some guy you've never met and who really has no influence on your life, yep, you're obsessed. news flash, it doesn't matter who the CEO is, at all. The board wanted downsizing and anyone they brought in was going to implement it.

@mgx a person without those traits would be less than human, no? Pretty much what subhuman means, in any event can't we disagree on things without calling people names?

I didn’t say subhuman, which would be below human.

I said non-human: meaning cold, heartless, no soul, no empathy, no ethics, self-serving and robotic.

Ok -I challenge you to point out one post on this board where someone suggests that Charlie “coddle employees” “make friends” or “kiss babies”, other than yourself. You won’t be able to even come close.

You are exaggerating the concept and the truth to be insulting and to attempt to prove a point, but unfortunately you unintentionally did quite the opposite. I love it.

@1pux yeah, let's refrain from calling other employees subhuman, regardless of their views. There's nothing in any of our job descriptions that says "support the CEO". I'm not even sure what that means, frankly. I have a job to do, and I do it, and that supports the mission of my LOB. Whether someone else directly/indirectly benefits from that really isn't relevant, that's my job.

All of that said, it is painfully obvious that whomever they hired as CEO was going to reduce the size of the workforce. They wouldn't have hired someone unwilling to do that...so whether it's Charles Sharf or James Doe or whatever, it was going to happen, because the board and the market say so. Who the CEO is, specifically, has no impact on that decision. So if we're all going to be mad, it should be at the board and the competition–they decided this was the best course of action. CS is just the face of the plan.

I’m pretty confident “Why should a company care about you?” and “It’s Amazing” are from the same troll employee looking to stir people up on a Friday for his/her own entertainment. Same thought process inherent in both.

I just happened to be out here when Post ID: @icd+1ahrXfyd submitted and upticked their own post. (The uptick occurred immediately.) Same poster who is blatantly bias against group, which will put him at the front of the line to be fired. I’m not sad about that.

So these two occurrences are good examples of the pettiness/mentality of the the Charlie-Worshipers who post out here, mainly to be an itch. Nothing more really needs to be said.

CEOs don't have a mandate in their contract to care for or coddle employees. They have a legal mandate to ensure the company makes money for shareholders or face federal, local and internal punishmemt.

Whether you feel like he is a good leader isnt a metric anywhere.

Not to mention he doesnt have the luxury of making friends and kissing babies since the last five guys did and let the company go.

What's illogical is thinking that this company can be successful for any of its stakeholders–employees included–if we continue to flounder away with our bloat and deadwood.

The company has been a disaster for years, and the geriatric crowd that dominates this board would have you believe it's everyone's fault but theirs.

I think it’s illogical to support Charlie. Support the person who greedily demanded $30,000,000 to destroy the jobs of 55,000 people. Support the person who will most likely lay you off. Support the cold non-communicative non-leader who’s keeping you around as long as it works for him, than will happily kick you to the curb.

Personally, I’m disturbed by any WFC employee who supports him. It’s like you’re non-human.

Or just spend time doing their job

Well, he just happens to be the CEO and controls their jobs and livelihood. That’s all.

I wasn’t thinking about him at all until I read this post. Pot, meet kettle.
