It’s been a year I left a competitor bank mainly due to toxic reasons/bad manager and joined a team in Wells Fargo covering CIB knowing the troubles it is in.
Now it’s been a year and although my team is great and generally consist of good people, the maturity of CIB business compared to the larger banks is close to nothing, especially the area I cover. I also believe I was hired to avoid the possible issue with spans and layers (where managers with directs under a certain count were on the potential list of layoffs).
Given all this, is it wise to look elsewhere in the current environment ? I don’t want to burn any relationships but career management is important and I doubt that will be offered given the “reason” I was hired. Any tips/thoughts would be appreciated.
