Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Public Affairs morale...

How's everyone in the PA world feeling? Watching colleagues getting displaced from all areas, WFs 4 years of reputation sewage. What's next? Do you WANT to stay to find out?

I'm exhausted, stressed, anxious not knowing where things stand. The lack of transparency has been so disheartening over the past 6+ months and it is only getting worse.

Anyone just feeling defeated?

To the poster who called Daley “Mayor Daley”. I’m pretty sure that Bill Daley has lost every election he ever entered. He is the Fredo of the Daley family, and Charlie keeps him around for amusement and fake political capitol.

PR didn’t have to be the worst job at WF. We keep putting the wrong people in the chair: OS. JR. Now BR. Think it can’t get worse? That PR fiasco after BR was hired set us back even more and that failure can’t be blamed on OS and JR. We are now years into this reputation failure. Do not wait around for a pink slip. It isn’t worth it.

It’s obvious those roles will be filled with her Ketchum pals. hopefully one of them will have an idea for a strategy to get us out of this reputation sewage mess. BR’s nonstop self promotion and pitching by a fleet of junior people and interns is pointless.

I'm convinced all the leaders – esp BR – wants our morale low so we opt out and find other jobs outside. Numbers down, no severance paid - win win for company. As for the new top leader roles BR posted – not a chance in hell they're filled from inside. Employee comms is the outlier that could be internal just for show. But, others and any COE leader postings will be her Ketchum buddies. We're all toast. Running this place like an agency. Puke. I want out and am searching outside. This place is a joke.

You don’t need to ask if folks feel defeated or depressed. That is the way of life in PA. It’s like the walking dead.

I worked directly for JR and he was only laser focused on one thing JR. He was over the moon when he got to cut OS. His big target was JM but he was got before he got her. A script is written before any public announcement is made and JR was to approve them but he never met the deadline and communications just went out. I left that group I knew it was a mess. Still with Wells 16 years later and JR well he’s been gone a year and not surprisingly still unemployed. OS he is working.

Mayor Daley has never been happier with the money from public affairs, and Charlie is happy as well. That’s called a “win win”.

BR is displacing people left and right. And replacing people with no experience interns! Hot trash fire mess. This is the worst environment I’ve ever worked in.

I am hoping for an autographed poem from BR in my displacement packet.

“‘Twas the night before layoffs ...”

What a surprise and delight.

PR for Wells Fargo has to be the worst job in the world. Even worse than marketing.

Chuck would sell his own gramma if it meant a higher stock price for his options award.

It’s terrible in Corporate communications. This re-org is awful. Morale is the worst it has ever been. I am getting out. Which is what BR wants. she does nothing except promote herself and she’s going to hire agencies to replace us all anyway. She already is. Wake up, people.

Sure am. Not in PA but feel the same way. The most unsupportive environment.
