Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Toxic Vision, zero values.

Most of us have been uncared for by Wells Fargo through what is in all likelihood the worst year of anyone’s life.

We have consistently been held to an unrealistic and wholly unobtainable standard of pre-pandemic excellence by management from the top down, while being thrust into continuously unsafe working environments, at least as branch bankers.

Not only did most of us perform the tasks that were asked of us during this time, our clients and colleagues feel as though we performed above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis.

Instead of being rewarded for our efforts and hard work, at the risk of physical and mental health, many of us have been met with mediocre performance reviews, skepticism, and a level of micromanagement only fit for a disruptive child.

As if this were not enough, career tracts have been eliminated, entire divisions eviscerated and titles diminished in a less than transparent attempt to save face for the shareholder.

There have been repeated attempts to gaslight the staff into believing that nothing has changed. While many of us were being spoon fed our demise, wrapped in the promise of a more “nimble organization”, your best people have been exiting.

Sales are back, the pressure has returned, and morale is at an all time low. This time, they are barely even attempting to hide their graft.

Chainsaw Charlie may be winning the attrition game, but human beings are the most important asset of all. I can’t wait for this lesson to be learned, publicly, in a very real way.

lol, goes on anonymous forum and lashes out at others for "hiding behind their screens". Pot, meet kettle.

Great post, OP. Well-written and I agree with everything you said. Don’t let Dumb and Dumber (@fwe and @uwp) dissuade you from speaking your truth, which is also the truth for many of the employees I communicate with. My take is that we have people on this board who get their daily self-esteem boosts by criticizing other’s posts. They hide behind their screens as well because they do not publicly want to reveal themselves as immature, petty, pious, and schoolyard bullies.

Why hide behind your screens? Are you THAT terrified of the true? This is for those in the comments hiding behind anonymity. You speak boldly but are timid to proclaim your names. Tells us all what we already know about you.

It's amazing how you can speak for "most of us". There's 260,000 employees, so you somehow know what 130k+ are thinking/feeling? Not all of us work retail, and there's no evidence that WFH made anyone safer, so I'm guessing that not everyone shares your perspective. I appreciate people's point of view, but it has value without bold proclamations that you speak for others. The last year doesn't even crack the top 5 for worst years of my life, but that's just me.

Wells Fargo refuses to evolve. Even with the success of WFH, they can’t wait to stick us back in a Petri dish to rub elbows again. The last year has been a joy. Not sick once. No one hovering over me (at least physically). Remote is really the future. Get your feelers out people. I’ve given up waiting on a severance that will likely never happen. Time to take control and move forward instead of sticking it out and going extinct.

@fwe. Funny you degrade someone wanting to be treated decently. You must be a real peach.

"Instead of being rewarded for our efforts and hard work" - it's called a paycheck. You know that thing that arrives in your bank account every two weeks. Maybe you need a participation trophy as well. Would that make you happier?
