Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Corp Comms new “org”

Can anyone explain how it will work and when it goes into effect? My manager is clueless. And why are some people interviewing for their jobs while others aren’t? Will those who aren’t interviewed be automatically displaced? Is this what BR has come up with after being on the job for almost a year? What a joke.

I’m sorry for everyone who’s dealing with the uncertainty and confusion. So much of this could have been avoided if we’d had the right leadership back in 08 when WF & Wachovia merged. Instead of doing the hard but necessary work required to integrate and streamline comms, they allowed the team to metastasize and now it’s just a big, bloated, disgusting mess that BR doesn’t know how to fix. Heartbreaking.

If you live in California, especially in the Bay Area, you are likely going to lose your job to someone in another market. Or be asked to relocate on your own dime.

If you can, I'd recommend getting out on your own terms unless you're actively waiting for a severance package (I know many are just biding their time and hope to get the package and move to greener pastures). If you think you're safe and you're not out there looking already...don't be so sure.

If you're interviewing to keep your/a job in Corp Comm, you might as well be interviewing outside of WF, too. You may be surprised that there are MUCH better comms jobs/companies/cultures out there that actually value what you do.

Good luck...

If you're not interviewed it either means you've already been specifically assigned to a job, or they can't envision a fit and you're probably displaced. Those who are interviewed are competing with one another based on role and number of positions. The fun part is about all of this, you don't know which bucket you fall into until it's all over with.
