Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Charlie is turning the titanic around. Wells is winning

From a recent article

“ In fact, this year, Wells Fargo has outperformed its peers – up about 32% year to date at Friday's prices.

Yes, Wells Fargo is winning. Investors want to know why, and whether it's sustainable. The answers are yes and yes, for one key reason: improved risk management and oversight.

Scharf has Wells Fargo on the right path back, as it has made efforts to further diversify its revenue stream by investing in its investment banking business, as it lags behind the other big banks.

Wells Fargo's efficiency ratio is very high at 83%, which means its expenses are higher in relation to its revenue. But Scharf plans to cut expenses by $10 billion.“

@enw the only "truly ignorant" comment in this whole thread is equating working at WF with cancer. I don't care if you are laid off in the worst possible circumstances, it's nothing compared to cancer. Go ahead and walk into your local cancer treatment center and start telling patients "... That's nothing, one time I had this job..." and see where that gets you. I understand that a good portion of the users here like to fetishize their victim status, but good grief, get ahold of yourself. It's a job. If you get laid off you'll get another one. It's 2021. People stay with an employer for 3-4 years and move on. Changing jobs isn't the "end of the world", unlike cancer, in fact most people here say you'll be better off in the long term to get laid off from a "toxic" "failing" company. I hope you never find out how grotesque your comparison really is.

This is a small part of the PR campaign to get the FRB/regulators off our backs. Par for the course.

Charlie couldn’t turn his cheeks off the toilet to wipe his b–t without Jamie telling him how and who to hire to do the wiping.

OP, in his/her delusional state of mind, thinks this post somehow counteracts the previous post (Disengagement engaged!) which is from a real person with real reactions to real things happening in his/her life at WFC.

Previous post reads as sincere and passionate and honest vs this post which reads as insincere, out of touch, and constructed to aggravate people during a rough time at the firm. I have zero respect for this OP and hope they get back the same bs they put out in to the world.

This is the only website, that I know of, where positive posts are from trolls looking to get under people’s skin. It’s like going out on a cancer patient support board and telling cancer patients about all the many benefits of cancer. Truly ignorant.

The author of said article is behind on his news. CS stated during the last earnings call that $10b was just a number, it will probably be closer to $8b. When pressed, CS refused to provide information on where the $8b was going to come from.

Here's another article by someone who actually does investing:

You may have to create a free account to view, but let's just say he's not as optimistic as the clown that wrote the Motley Fool article.

WFC stock is "winning" because the stock performance was left behind last year, year and a half when the other banks were rallying. Our stock is just catching up due to lack of cheap alternatives, in terms of valuation, in the industry.
