Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

if you're not performing and about to get laid off accuse the company of discrimination and harassment

It works. I knew a lady who spent years going in and out of HR for non-permance but was s-xualky harassed by a coworker and even the boss and she simply kept her job because of the harassment and discrimination because she was a woman the company didn't want to deal with the harassers or her because it was a headache. She eventually got pushed out but not before vesting her 401k in 5 years and turning the business into chaos.

I'm the original poster. ALTHOUGH, the lady in question was se-----y harassed by a coworker and her boss she was wrongly accusing others of se-ual harassment and wasn't doing any work. In addition, she was se-----y harassing other employees by spreading malicious rumors about their s-x lives. She was also embezzling money using the company PCard for personal expenses, food, trips, and vacations. Until the business went under she was pushed out but not before vesting her 401k and bringing the business under. She was eventually arrested for attacking a stranger with a baseball bat.

No not the only thing about wells that embarrasses me. I was responding to the thread topic. Odd that people reporting retaliation on those who open cases. Always two sides to every case. Nevertheless, I know for a fact that an open hr case delays a rif or avoids one altogether.

And they are riffing people saying that the job isn't needed and then moving the work elsewhere in the company and hiring to do the job. No workforce strategy.

there are a couple guys in icf that harass and break every law in the book, they are like order takers and useless employees, wells is dumb to keep these guys that run spell check and pay them money. Come on Chainsaw, you need to start firing and dont listen to managers as they protect their friends that dont threaten their job.

In any case I got a much better job at Executive level and will be back only to kick these losers to the curb. With no skills they can go work for instacart.

It is true that getting harassed is terrible. When that happens, best to just leave because if you complain to HR, they will find a way to get rid of you and not the harasser. I know of 2 x female employees who complained about this same guy and they both got fired for bad 'performance.' That same guy tried to harass me (he started talking about s-x and then leaned really close to me and put his hands on my shoulders to massage me) but I told him off. A few years later he left the company but the whole thing left a bad taste.

The point is - any time you complain of harassment, you will be seen as a liability for potential lawsuit which will require expensive settlement and/or legal fees and a lot of time if it goes to Court - so even if you are in the right, the company will want rid of you to put the matter behind them. If they cannot find any dirt on you, they will lay you off.

Being laid off as a result of a reorg or corporate RIF isn’t the same as being fired. So you couldn’t retaliate and accuse the company of illegal behavior. A layoff means your role is no longer needed and therefore you are no longer needed.

I have seen far too many pull the harrasment card as a defensive measure here, and it works. In my 3 years, I believe I've seen 5-6 employees fear being laid off open up hr cases that effectively saved their jobs - fact. So pathetic, I'm embarrassed to say I work for WF.

Se-ual harassment and discrimination could tend to undermine performance, particularly if the person doing the harassing is also the person judging the performance.

I like how OP acknowledges that she was s-xually harassed, discriminated against, and lost her job, and still finds the room to look down on her.

This guy is one of your coworkers at Wells Fargo, people. Get out while you can.

The toxic people like you make this place such a sh–.... sorry for telling the truth. If it’s a doom day for me, I would happily take the severance package, leave and get another job since it’s truly the firm’s loss to lay me off.

Why would anyone want to emulate the actions of a mentally unhealthy and unsound mind. Here's some helpful advice, act normal, be diligent, and be kind to others and you will do just fine. If your laid off there will be many people you can call upon for help finding a new job if required. I was once laid off here, i looked online for a couple months which landed interviews but no offers. You know how I found a job? i ran into a old co worker who knew i worked hard while I was the grocery store. I told them about my situation. A couple days later I was on a flight and interviewed with this other bank and had a job in a week.

This advice makes no sense. Being the target of harassment and discrimination isn't fun and games.
