I was let go at the beginning of the month. The only thing going for me is that I’ve been preparing for this for over a year. I was a bit depressed and for a week or two I was asking myself what I could have done to avoid being cut. The only answer I came up with - there was nothing I could have done. I’ve accepted that and I’ve realized that this is the best thing that could have happened to me. I hope others are doing well who were also laid off. It may not be easy but we will all get thru it eventually.

WF died years ago, this new company is a shadow of itself. I moved on a couple months ago and couldn't be happier. It's amazing how good life is when you rid yourself of TOXINS.

There's really not that many people who get laid off. There's far more who simply find a better job and move on. If your lucky enough to get a package its not bad, you get a 2 mo notice, you get like 2mo to a year in straight up payout, you get to collect unemployment at the same time. I worked for a couple of tech companies and people were gone in 2 years avg time. Here people are mad if they can't keep their same job for 30 years.
You’re right. When the bean counters decide your number is up, and trust me, they are the ones deciding, not anyone who knows about your work, there’s nothing you can do.
Thank you for your post. I, too, was laid off and I admit that I am having a difficult time dealing with it but as you stated, we will get through it.
It's hard and I am no fan of change but it happens whether we like it or not.
If I had my choice, I would have loved to stay with Wells. You don't know what's on the other side. It could be better or worse.
Time will pull us through and I do wish us all the best. We deserve it.
No one job will ever make you or break you. Yes you’ll feel bad for a while, and that’s okay, you’re entitled. You’re paying for someone else’s greed and dishonesty. It’s not fair.
But you got this job and you’ll get another one. That’s the way it goes.

Like you I was upset for a few weeks but I did not get layed off but worked in a toxic group beyond belief, they did not even know the US laws and they were breaking them. Was worried I would become infected with the toxicity and no ethic mindset they have, and wanted to be nothing like them, so best to go.
Anyways, not I am looking to make my first million in this role over next 18 months, I am way up the food chain in a much bigger company. Work only 8 hours - 5 days a week, no weekends or on call, thats for kids.
Based on this new position, dream job, I am also looking to move my retirement up 5-10 years sooner, but still a ways to go for that.
Hope others wind up in a much better spot too!
Congratulations, I'm jealous... the only reason I'm dreading being laid off is I'll miss out on severance as I refuse to sign the "I won't sue" letter you have to sign to get it as I'm in the process of suing.
I was let go in Aug 2015 and quickly found another position at Wells Fargo. My only regret is that I accepted the position and let go of the severance. I enjoy some aspects of my job, but my current manager is not engaged with the team, delegates some of her managerial responsibilities, doesn't understand our business and let's the bad behavior from low performers continue.
If I could turn back the clock, I would have looked outside of the company.
