Geez you goofs, laptops are no longer bought, WF leases them now. Your laptop can be replaced anytime, ding dong. Just call TC, complain, it gets moved to a different group, then they replace it. It's easier then coming on here and complaining about it.
Considering they are beating the bushes in Charlotte for consultants that know Selenium and JIRA, I am guessing they are planning on needing to replace FTEs with people they can write off and get rid of at any time soon.
@liw LAN has no issue replacing your laptop, but Charlie and Co. don't want to since not doing so will motivate you to quit. Think about it, why would they spend $800 on you to keep you around hoping they'll at least give you a package when they finally downsize your department rather than not spend $800 and get you to quit, saving them the cost of both a new laptop and paying you a severance?
They want to avoid paying severance if at all possible.
Seems like HR would have to be plenty busy lately with all the process overhauls and reorgs and RIFs. What am I missing?
They are gutting more HR in second quarter. Tech I got nothing for you.
Well, my laptop was scheduled to be replaced 16 months ago, and they can't even replace worn out laptops. IT and HR do NOT support the people here! Clean house, Charlie!
