What are the chances we'll still have any call centers here in the US five years from now? I'm starting to worry that every single one of those jobs is destined to be outsourced. Some sooner than others, but the way things have been going all of them are going to be gone. Am I exaggerating?

They should build them all in Arkansas.
there is some older lady in our group that doesnt do her work, she tries to get other people to do it by creating turmoil, making every ones work life a headache more than it already is.
Call center work itself is slowly obsoleting. The younger the generation, the more likely to use electronic means of communication.
Calling a 1-800 number, waiting on a slow IVR, scripted conversation, etc are the past.
Companies have been dying to jettison their call centers for many years. They're expensive and a liability compared to the value they offer.
I can't remember the last time I called a 1-800 number for anything, and I don't miss it.
they have to maintain.. while they build out in india.. but they are all going to india etc..
Follow the sun was a bald face lie to get around the government offshore replacements scrutiny. I've worked with people in India and Philippines for years who work the same hours I do in the US.
At least it'll take all the air out of the whole "follow the sun" way of staffing.
Which is why I can't understand why they keep hiring, to be honest.
