Hey, don’t confuse some of these new folks with the facts. They can’t handle it.

A lot of these hotshot automatons have no clue how to do anything manually when they have to. With these environments having issues half the time, they have to. So guess who they ask?

When you have bean counters in the nosebleed section making decisions like these that have never done the job or have no idea how things really work, what do you expect?

Of course, they won’t be around to pick up the mess they leave.

It will be interesting to see who they get to answer all these inexperienced peoples questions that have no idea how things work or the business reason behind it if they get rid of QAs and BSCs. The lousy code will get lousier.

Previous poster;

This place operates in dinosaur ages, only way to get another job is to study for last year in current tech. This place may not realize we are no longer in the horse and carriage times.

companies who do not follow the future always fail

Am I the only one who’s spent most of the past year dragging a system kicking and screaming into the 21st century? I literally do not know how this would continue to move forward if they laid me off, but I’d almost welcome the rest.

These layoffs will get progressively larger as we get into the middle part of the year. This one will be significant, but just the start.

The only thing I’m doing at Wells Fargo is trying to get OUT of Wells Fargo, and as soon as possible.

What about the former BSC positions, now Technical BSC's? Does anyone have any info if we will be laid off ? We are getting no information from our managers and are told to look for a way to fit on future agile teams. I can't become a developer overnight by taking online classes. I guess I will update my resume.

Next week, go to work, that's about all you can do, but asking about what the crystal ball will bring, well....

Our tech is really a joke. We've had so many tech leaders over several years and still have some c-appy ancient, non intuitive systems. Then we see wfa brag about the stability of their system during the GameStop event. Sure, stable but c-appy old systems that few to no younger generation clients want to use. I hope we don't use the excuse of stability as a reason to not try and get interactive live systems.

@wql+19vF3eil, hey so exhibit C

why do you think its a non issue for people in tech?

Thing is wells give people jobs and tech titles, when they are not doing tech at all. When they go to real world they will not be hired. They will expect more than they ever did or ever have seen. This is fake tech jobs here. Real world works differently

"fake sabatages"...exhibit A in bloat that needs to be cut. If you were the OP in the "I don't want to work on Friday" thread, that's exhibit B.

As far as 'tech' goes, it depends entirely on what part of tech you're talking about. Their empire is vast. Some parts will get off-shored, some will remain largely the same, and some will grow. Just depends. Regardless, yes, the process will proceed slowly/carefully for a lot of reasons. Sure regulators are watching, but they don't really care if a company lays of some tech people, it's a non-issue to them. There's a lot of risk in layoffs...lawsuits, PR, etc. The truth of the matter is that the group in HR that manages these processes isn't equipped to layoff 50,000 people in a short period of time, even if the higher ups wanted too. It's a labor intensive activity.

I will say layoffs is not a business strategy! Who is building the business and fixing the company profile from all the crimes?

There is good news and bad news. Chainsaw can only do so many layoffs at once, so he has to slow down his engines. The regulators and congress are watching him closely. If he dumps more unemployed people on the govt to make payments he is going to assist in bankrupting the country. He is playing it cautious and should or will be out.

Then the managers are setting up fake sabatages, to get people to quit on their own. This way Wells fargo can tell the regulators like 70% of workers left on their own and we only layed off 3%. Stay strong and keep all the documentation you can. They are one dirty company!
