Speak for yourself. Probably appropriate for you.

@bba+19sIHhMK. If you slow it down to 400% faster does your grammar improve and if you slow it further to 200% do you “thing” that your spelling wold be better?

It's funny how people think that it's mutually exclusive. Believe it or not, most successfull people work both harder AND smarter. But by all means, keep doing you.

I accept the job because I believe in working smarter not harder;

unfortunately the place had become toxic over past year and not worth ruining my health as there are no upsides

Why did you accept the offer? Personally I'm a ways below MRP, but I have no complaints. Love my job and the people I work with are great.

i feel same way got 3x pay, so working 40 hours a week for 1x or 3x, what kind of id–t would stay for 1x? Life is short

OP here, no I am not a bad candidate. I got a huge boost in pay at another bank, so will accept.

This is business and trading your time for money. If you make 2x the money during same 40 hours elsewhere, not worth staying in the low paying gig

I know several people who left BofA to work at Wells for the better pay.

Just interview at other jobs and tell them you made what you think you actually deserve to get paid. They can’t really check. Heck, tack on an extra 20% above what you want. See what happens. There are a lot of banks out there. If you’re at least pretty good someone will pay you.

You got a bad offer because you were a terrible candidate. Those of us with real skills and negotiating prowess got compensation packages that were acceptable.

It's ok. It doesn't pay as well as some other banks and it doesn't pay as less.
I interviewed with a few other banks and they weren't paying what Wells was. Bank of America is one that was offering much less.

Many employees will say “I’m underpaid” without any real basis for comparison. As I’ve interviewed I’ve realized WF base comp is pretty generous, at least in my area. (It doesn’t help that other companies don’t have so many middle manager roles, so if that is your pay range at WF you may find it hard to get your same salary elsewhere, unless you can negotiate a promotion going in.)

I have found that other banks believe WF comp is high. Just about everywhere I interview someone says “we’re worried we can’t afford you, coming from Wells.”

Don’t believe folks who say you’ll never get similar vacation at another bank. Many are comparable.

They consider Charlotte the equal to Des Moines wages which is definitely not the case. Charlotte has a high standard of living.

As someone said, depends on where you are. I know in Charlotte they pay low compared to competitors.

Anywhere? That's a big statement. I'm sure someone working the cafeteria at a retirement home would trade you their compensation package any day.

Wells pays extremely well. Why else would we get a floor gate of externals? Good luck getting your salary here elsewhere with the same level of responsibility.

In technology, the pay is extremely competitive as distinct from the technology itself which is not.

I guess it may vary depending on where you live and what you are used to or state of mind:

I am looking for:
Base: 205k
Stock: 100k package
SIgn on Bonus: year 1 and year 2
Annual bonus: 22%

actually they pay well if you have the right skill sets. Most of the people I know who come in with 5-10 years of risk experience are easily making 175k in Charlotte and other area 2 markets. Plus a 20-30% bonus. That's certainly not low for individual contributor roles compared to our peers who tend to pay in the 150-160k range with more like a 20k bonus for the same type of role. so jut putting this out there that some areas do pay well, but I know other areas here that don't. Back off for example is habitually low-paid, you could manage an entire area with 100-200 people and be under 100k. Technology is another good example - most are making well over 150-200k in area 2 markets.

You should get a job circumcising elephants at the zoo. The pay is lousy but the tips are huge.
