Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Lazy Co-Workers

Like the other day one of the co-workers asked me, "how can I complete this assignment the nutcase manager gave me Friday at 4 pm." So I gave them some information on how I would suggest approaching it. Then he said "am not one who usually asks for this, but maybe you can complete this for me for Monday too".

This is like I pointed the person down the path they need to walk on and they need to now walk that path and not only that they need to be very good on this path and succeed. This guy seems to want me to walk the path for him and complete his task. So he is right the manager is a nutjob and why this one assign Friday at 4 pm is beyond me. But the bigger issue is this group is way beyond lazy for sure.

How about “ but for all intent and purposes is still leaching off the rest of us”.

“intensive purposes” LOL. They walk among us... hopefully not leaching off your grammar and spelling abilities.

+1 Regional service advisors

If you don’t know what they do or confuse them with actual financial advisors then that about sums up their jobs. This role can literally be replaced with email.

People became even lazier in retail after goals went away. Think of it, no measuring of real performance. The one good thing about goals is people got held accountable for their actions

Lazy co-workers = regional service advisors. OTE-pandemic, I saw them 1-2 a month at the branches for about 30m-1hr. Post pandemic, I see then 0-1 a month for about 15 mins.

What is a regional service advisor you ask? It’s some middle-person, liaison role between corporate and the branches whom provides updates to branch leadership.

This role is literally designed to be lazy and I realized is why there are people in this role for > 8 years, some approaching 20 years!

yes my group in IT was this way too, the people have worked here decades without knowing a thing in what they support. Pretty pathetic.

They dump all the work on me, then I move to a new group with was the same way and work there decades too. Pathetic.

I just ignore any request from the lazy workers.

You need to nip this in the bud. Now. Unless you feel like watching your lazy co-worker taking the credit for your hard work. And then doing it again.

When the person asks for help just say you’re really busy, and suggest they ask the manager for direction. You don’t have to be mean. Just busy.

Trust me, I learned the hard way. Tried to be helpful, and ended up with a lazy co- worker attached to me like a barnacle. Sc-ape him off now.

I guess this is a thing at Wells. I have a lazy manager and some lazy team mates. I have other team mates who pretend to not know anything to avoid being used. I used to help out a lot. Until, I got fed up with folks who expect me to have all the answers so they don't have to learn anything. My manager just throws work on anyone foolish enough to do it. She literally said she would dump some assignments on my coworker after I let her know I had too much on my plate. Yes, she actually said the word dump.

My team has people like this on it too. My boss is clueless. When you go out of your way to tell him he does absolutely no managing of the situation. He doesn't care as long as it gets done by someone. I regret being a poor s-cker in the beginning who was way too helpful and eager to please, because I've been walked all over ever since. I wish I had my fellow teammates expectations, because they get paid to do very little.

My manager is one of the laziest people I know at work. He recently lost his manager title but for all intensive purposes is still leaching off the rest of us as he always has. How is that saving the company any money? I suspect some groups will try to circumvent the intended use of spans and layers by doing little other than changing the org charts on paper. Where is the real change?

@twe+19rpdI8n Must be cos she’s female, or else why make her gender a ‘thing’?

I got one female co-worker that was moved this new platform team at same time. Somehow she came to conclusion that entitled her to pass off her responsibilities to me. Being a short timer I've just ignored her.

yes they do seem to be the primary type here!

in any case thanks for the reply's; I think you all are right and on if you help them too much , I will be sabataging their path and is not long term sustainable. As I am a Senior software engineer, it is not un-rare for people to be begging me for freebies and handouts. After thinking this through this is not helping the lazy people, so it is better for me not to be a contributor to these problems with laziness here.

Easy. Just say no. If you don’t then you are part of the problem, an enabler

Your co-worker is testing you to see if you are a s—er

Your manager needs to know about your co-worker's lack of capacity for future planning of work. Not sure if this is related to the topic of layoffs at WF, but perhaps it is.
