They are in our group, as is manager 1:1s actually. The new manager I got said he don’t believe in them, but I am guessing because after the reorg he has too many directs that it would be all he did.
The difference between theory and reality is that the c-suite doesn’t have to deal with the reality of their stupid decisions.
I’ve had many at WF and other firms. The problem with skip levels at WF is you cannot be honest during your meeting. It’s a song and dance, form over function type activity. In other words, a monumental waste of time. The area I’m in now, we don’t do them but I have full access to multiple levels of mgmt at anytime. So it is not really needed.
This is basically the speed of skipping you can do and timing you doing this going to a hub location doing this; you have to be at a certain speed to pass
Yes they do still happen and it’s random , as a new employee I’m like wtf is this when the executives secretary put it on my calendar. It would be good to explain what it is in the email.
