Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Threatened with layoff? Forced life improvement.

A group of us (WIM) will be obsolete soon so that prompted me to look elsewhere. 6 competing firms offered me a job and with much better pay. I wouldn't have looked around if the threat of a layoff was non-existent. Thx WF!

Then why would you be laid off?

@1vlb+19mnKtzs if bringing in millions in revenue to the firm is useless, then yea I suppose.

Staying in your comfort zone will weaken you over time. It will give you brain atrophy. Always try to improve and grow.

Glad to hear!

I understand why people stay. You get lulled in to the “Better the devil you know” mindset. And it depends on your skills, your experience, your risk tolerance, your age, your direct boss, golden handcuffs, your city etc.

But there is something rotten at the core of Wells Fargo. A new CEO can’t change it no matter how many tens of millions the BOD agrees to pay him. We have nothing special to offer our clients. We don’t do anything better than our competitors. We’ve ruined whatever reputation we had, which was false anyway. Our technology will remain behind with the focus on cost-cutting. Employees are discouraged and disengaged.

It’s not like Wells Fargo is doing any good in the world and we should stay because we are dedicated to it’s noble mission. There is nothing noble about Wells Fargo. We should only stay if we feel like they value us. If you are thriving here and enjoy your work and your team, you should stay. But if Wells Fargo is taking more from you than it is giving you, please don’t give them another minute of your precious time. They don’t deserve you.

Great job!!

I ran into the same exact circumstance too, much happier now not in the toxic workplace with people with low self esteem
