I recently had WFC screening interview and I asked about relocating to HUBs. I was informed by HR that WFC is re-thinking the entire HUB concept. Apparently, with the COVID global experience, the success and effectiveness of employees working from home and the unnecessary real estate expenses HUBs no longer make any sense. Managers will decided where they want their teams located; virtually or office. Decisions and communication with be forthcoming in the next coming months. Anyone knows more about the WFC HUB update?

Reduction in pollution due to the elimination of commuting. Reduction of facilities expenditures as a result of elimination of unneeded office space. Increased productivity as a result of elimination of the antiquated need to physically interact with peers. Let’s face facts. WFH pretty much proves that Wells Fargo has been living in the past with relation to its water cooler work model. 100 years ago, an in person office environment made sense because of the lack of technology. Technology enables me to interface with my coworkers in other states and other countries more efficiently than having the corporate stooges breathing down my neck and talking me up. I don’t need the social interaction. I’m there for the check. I could care less about your kids softball game or who’s screwing who. Just let me do my job.
If the gub’ment and corporate leaders really cared about reducing pollution they would champion WFH for all who can because it is an enormous reduction in pollution. But reality is they don’t.
Hubs are still a go. Charlie and Scott are big against work from home but the other OC members want it. We'll see who wins in the end.
I am an Asian American, and I feel like i am not dealt a fair hand. There are no asian singers on the radios here. I found it very wierd. All controlled by same groups in US. I am not crying or making a fuss about this.
You have to take hand you were dealt and see what you can do with it.
Tomorrow will be a new day and new wind direction. Don't hold your breath at this Circus. It changes as fast as the weather.
I was lied too too when applying to internal role; they were saying how great the new group was , la da da da da; really when I got there it was a sh– show
I work here and dealt with three recruiters, one initial and two for internal postings for new roles. Two of them straight up lied to me, one specifically about work location. Their word is worth nothing.
If this is true it’s classic Wells. “At the manager’s discretion.” Depending on the level where the decision is made, this can be a nightmare. You work remotely, and want to change roles but where you can apply depends on the whims of the team leader. No rhyme or reason. Or there’s a reorg, and your old boss was OK with remote but your new one is not.
Really hope leadership shows some LEADERSHIP, and establishes guardrails like... you should allow remote UNLESS XYZ.
