I heard from someone who sits on the Operating Committee that layoffs will kick in with a vengeance starting in late March. Why? Because C.S. Is scheduled to do his annual meeting in early March where he testifies In Front of Congress, and wants to avoid the negative press and uncomfortable questions he will be asked about layoffs, diversity, etc. at that time. Also, the press about investing in black banks, etc. is window dressing for his meeting with Congress.

WF will never get to a rhythm of deploying or releasing code in two week cycles. They are starting to realize that agile does not work in this business, just as BOA found out.

Given the D&I initiative it would not be wise to do a large layoff of any diverse groups. It would be interesting if employees who have checked the disability designation or were in otherwise protected groups were to come forward after a layoff.

You sound like you already know... tech is a mess. In my WIMT group it literally takes months to get the smallest changes approved. developed, tested and deployed. Haven't seen hide nor hair of agile.

This may be the plan, but I don't see how it could work. The Congress critters will know all about layoffs, regardless of when they happen, and they can call for people to testify whenever they want to. So the old 'fire everyone the day after the hearings!' trick really isn't pulling the wool over anyone's eyes. CS will get grilled a little on the Hill, but it won't be too bad. EW wouldn't be happy unless we all got fired and k–led ourselves, so I don't lose much sleep worrying about what that cultural appropriator thinks.
That's interesting. Just looking through the Financial Services Committee upcoming hearings and there no mention of it. Last March 10th (2020) was the last one. Sure you have your years right?

I would like to see CS explain why it is such a hassle to get anything into production. Their pipe dream of 2 week sprints is a joke when it takes 2 weeks to get all approvals just to push something. So messed up. Can't be agile when it is near impossible to get the offshore folks to approve things, (talking to you SecDevOps).....
