Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

That's insane they couldn't just let you get your things. Im glad I packed up as soon as I heard about layoffs. They are so petty.

I left on my own back in September for a better opportunity. I had gone thru the proper channels and got T Kerrins level approval to go back to get my stuff on my next to last day of employment. When I showed up, I was basically told I couldn't get my personal items. I showed all the approval emails to no avail. Was told they would ship my stuff to me.

I sent emails over the next few weeks to my former Mgr, who tried to get answers. Nothing but delay tactics, including asking me to provide a list of items that I was expecting to be delivered. I provided that list, but still nothing after two weeks of me l providing that list. On the advice of an attorney, I sent another email to my Mgr (who all along was trying to help) and cc-Ed his boss, the attorney , the head of HR, and Charlie Sharf. The email detailed everything I described above. I miraculously got a phone call the next morning, and a time was set up for me to get my stuff (they had to box it with my Mgr present while I waited in the lobby).

Everything I wanted from my cubicle was all sentimental, but it was my stuff, and I had the legal right to have it. The rules changed after I had gotten T Kerrins approval. I'm just telling what worked for me. Good luck!

I didn't keep a lot of personal items at my desk. When I was informed of displacement, I grabbed a small box and was out of there in a few minutes prior to any other team members arriving. TBH, I never felt secure enough to really make my workspace my own anyway.

Be afraid no more. I thing this matter is only taking some time to be processed. A banker from my now-old branch told me that personal stuff was prepared to be sent a few days ago to those of us who were laid off. It should be arriving soon.

Wells Fargo should have been more organized and just a bit more caring about this. Reality s—s, though.

The good thing is... I'm enjoying that after the paid 60-day notice period, I'll be getting some weeks of severance in addition to unemployment benefits (thank you, CA!). Taking the time to find a new job. I knew a need a new one because, even though I loved my job, I was tired of inefficiency and unfairness at the office. I see now those who still work there, and they're not happy about everything that's going on. Some want out.

Finding a nice, new job won't be easy, but I can do it.

This happened to me before at another company who did major layoffs. Someone on this same site for that company stated that it’s a ‘civil matter’ and to let HR know that you would like your belongs before contacting your lawyer. I did this and got my personal stuff overnighted to me the next day. Some items were of course missing but I was able to recover the items I really wanted. Good luck and I am sorry this happened to you.

i don't see why the bank can't let your manager go thorough your things, determine what's personal property, and let you know that's ready for you to pick up

but knowing that a few managers are shrewd or incompetent, i'm not surprised to read what you describe in your post

if they told you they were going to send your stuff, then wells fargo should abide by its word

i quit to go to a successful company and 3x the pay; sure, i wont go on their property, ill move my account to a credit union so my money isnt stolen

they probably found things they want to keep so kept your stuff

Never in all my years at Wells Fargo, or any job, have I not been in a position to pick up my bag, put on my coat, walk out and never look back.

This is why.

Hear me out. They DON'T care about you. In fact, they don't care about anybody. If they did, you'd have a job–assuming you were a good employee. I saw how they let productive employees go and a– lazy people stay just because the latter were lucky enough to have a position that wasn't up for elimination.

My advice? Pretend this was your girl/boyfriend breaking up with you for some a– stupid person. So, cry a little, take a deep breath, forget about those anniversary pins and fancy pens, and move on. Believe me. Wells is not the only employer in the world. Not even the best. You will be better off. Good luck!

I'd just write it off and move on. My cube has some stuff in it, but nothing I can't live without. That could sound cold, but I wish all the success in everything you do.

Not cool. Call your old manger every day till you get your stuff.

When you leave you get a sheet of POCs. Forget your manager. Call the numbers on the 'leaving WF' sheet and inform them that if you don't get your property in a week or less, the sheriff will be coming with you to collect your property. It sounds like your manager is kicking the can down the road and doesn't care, time to get the ball rolling downhill.

No ex employee is allowed back into Wells property period.

I am planning to resign very soon. I was wondering about that. I am going to try to get approval to collect my things ahead of time. I dont want to be in your situation.
