Seriously what type of low life bank does this kind of stuff.

The Right has several hundred million guns. If they had started a coup, they would have brought them and they would still control DC. In reality, they were LET in the building (there's video of it) and then a cop shot an unarmed protestor in the throat and k–led her. But I guess no one cares about cops k–ling civilians anymore, that was just 2020, apparently.
Really! Oh yeah they would defeat the US Army, Navy and Marines of course. Get real.
Typically when the gov't requests data it's on a customer, like 1 customer, not mass sc-aping of all the bank's client's financial data. Here's where the BOA really screwed up. These were not terrorists, these were Americans protesting what they saw as a manipulated election. If you're going to call half the customers terrorists and engage in mass spying for the gov't without question, get ready for a mass customer exodus.
I'd be more worried about the low life bank that didn't do that kind of stuff.
Wells Fargo turns over account info to law enforcement on a regular basis. No big deal.
When you open an account, you get a deposit agreement.
It clearly states that banks will do exactly exact this type of thing when requested by law enforcement. Smart criminals use cash and stay off of social media and turn off location tracking.
Nothing to see here but a bunch of dumb criminals who don’t read, claim to love law enforcement until they have to answer a couple questions.
Seriously, if you think this is invasive, the counter-terrorism and anti-money-laundering bank training is going to blow your mind.
Do we have to talk politics on this site? Isn't there some place else you can take it?
It’s a federal administrative subpoena called a National Security Letter and it comes with a gag order attached. Why does Tucker Carlson only get exercised about this when it’s applied to Americans trying to overthrow the government using violence, the world may never know.
sorry i dont use any banks positioned in Charlotte or the south, as those types will steal my money
There can't be many Americans in this forum if you guys are really surprised by this....
Close your credit card account..many choices where you get the same benefits or better!
Uh huh. As if BofA was the only one. Because BofA is the gullible white boy bank of choice, they are the only bank the fibbies contacted, and the only bank to turn over the requested info.
What BOA did is completely illegal and shows no thought at all for their customers. Being the NSA is in no way in the customers best interest. The customer is king, you serve him and you do well. If hand over his financial transactions in bulk to the gov't and you just lost customers for life. Bank of America just cut their own throat.
Dumb comments. Half of America just went to bed listening to Bank of America turning over their customers data without their consent. Kiss Bank of America good bye. In case you didn't know this isn't China, there's law's and ethics. You screw your customers and your gone, lights out gorilla radio.
Tucker Carlson? I don’t even have to watch it to know it’s an attempt to make martyrs out of poor innocent white people.
A flood of business? Lol As if Wells had a shining reputation.
Help! I've become an extremist by watching that Fox News video!
Come on. All bank employees know that their employers provide governmental entities with customer information when required by law or if there's suspicious activity (UARs, etc.). If that's what it takes to stop those criminals who dare to call themselves patriots, then, so be it. Face the consequences of your actions. If banks are doing anything illegal or illegal, let them face the consequences, too. Check and balances for everyone.
I wonder where this kind of outraged people about supposed government overreach were during the Trump administration.
If you were one of the vandals who participated in "the Revolution" last month, I hope you go to prison. Be responsible. And you can be proud about it. You're a big, beautiful martyr.
And, no. I don't think BofA customers will leave for WF or other banks in troves just like many of WF's customers got angry but never let the bank when its ugly sales practices came to light.
Oh, well.

Unreal they would be this dumb. Great news for WF though, this place is going to get a flood of business
