What’s the latest as to when we are going back in the office? Was working in the Boston office. Any updates? Keep getting conflicting stories.
They can’t make vaccines mandatory can they?
Thanks

“At the moment the vaccine is still technically and officially considered experimental.”
More incorrect information from the geniuses in “the smartest state”.
nothing you said was accurate @3wzl+19fZBDfo
At the moment the vaccine is still technically and officially considered experimental. I don't think you can mandate an experimental vaccine to employees. I'm no lawyer, but I think a mandate would open up a company to endless lawsuits, bad press and government action, none of which Wells Fargo needs right now.
They will get people back into the office as soon as possible. They want to implement the lame location strategy and upset people who were already working from home by forcing them back to an office location. This is all part of Schart's attrition strategy.
I'll be retired before people go back in I think it'll be some time. They have a small number of employees in St Louis related to the trading floor I think, we get at least one notification of positive covid report a week sometimes two. Cant imagine them bringing the rest of the folks in.
BTW companies can mandate you take a test to prove you're d–g free as a condition of employment so I dont think there is any doubt they can mandate you take a vaccine as condition of employment.
Yes any private company can mandate it. Right on the CDC website in the Q&A. Perfectly legal.
The issue for wfh is that it has to meet OSJ rules & in theory they would have to come to your home & audit your workspace for finra security, etc. obviously impractical. We will come back into the offices, just when & how is the big question.
In the meantime, just stay home. Your mom says she has plenty of work and "jobs" for everyone
The job I just got at a huge financial firm, said they are in no rush to go back to the office, so they have it at 2022. THis is great news for me. Hope by then we all just move to remote.
Late this year or early next for most ppl. It’s dumb that they kick the can a month at a time instead of just putting a realistic date out there. Of course this approach is evident that SP and CS have made a decision that gives them the option of pulling ppl in sooner rather than giving the benefit of the doubt in the situation to employees. We all know that’s just the kind of people they are.
if they dont mandate it, then the workplace is unsafe, so we can continue to work from home
I will be out till I find another job at my new employer
Employment at will, of course an employer could mandate vaccine as a requirement.
Not going to happen though
J&J submit its 1 shot vaccine to FDA for approval; they expect to have enough doses out in Q1
they said on the news, even after vaccine u still have to wear the mask; they dont know what the outcome will be with all the mutations and future ones too
It was extended till May.. and they will discuss again after that
At the same time they are putting people at risk, ones that have medical issues that cannot get the vaccine for some reason. Can they put people's lives at risk for deciding to not get the vaccine? Its not all about them.
this article may be good reference point.

still some ambiguities and what is "reasonable" accommodation. And I have also read articles that say that there can and likely will be a "higher" bar than with other vaccines to request religious or medical exceptions. also, what will be of interest is what is acceptable "reasonable accommodations". i could see that they require full on face shields for people who don't want to for indefinitely.
OP, don't you guys get news up there in Boston? Such a lame excuse for whatever it is you're trying to stir up.
There is no office in Boston
Employers can require employees to be vaccinated as part of the job requirements. Hospitals do it with the flu vaccine all the time. Technically it’s not “mandatory “ because you can choose not to work there.
I hear traveling now has to mandate masks and they think vaccine will be next on any planes, trains, etc
Thanks for checking in CPG.
Based on your post, you should just stay at home indefinitely. They'll call you if they need you...
No updates. I was WFH before COVID so no big deal for me, but a lot of people do want to go back to the office. If there's a silver lining with COVID it's that some of the stogey old higher ups have finally accepted that work 'can get done' with WFH employees. There was definitely a large # of people in positions of power that did NOT think that pre-pandemic–so it changed some minds. My guess is, people will be allowed to return in 2021, but it'll be phased, distanced, etc. If CPG hadn't been spending millions to get rid of high-walled cubes the last few years, which was always a stupid decision even before COVID, we would probably be back already.
there's been no official update, seems they send it out once a month. I would expect another by mid-month. But yes, they can require a vaccine if they wanted to.
Foolish if true.
It's for sure 4/1
everyone going back on soonest possible date, so people start self selecting to leave the company vs paying out severance and unemployment
do you ever read your email? pretty difficult task to do isn't it..
I don't think we will be returning for a while. Quite frankly, I'm getting sick of it already but what can you do? The cases are spiking everywhere.
The Federal govt is still determining this, right now no one even know how long the vaccine works or the long term affects. Right now the Federal Government has only made wearing masks mandatory at this point.
No one has stated anything on vaccines. The CEO was silent on the matter and quite honestly it would be illegal to do so.
With the current administration that may change eventually
Who has stated they have a legal right to mandate vaccines?
No updates. They've stated they have the legal right to mandate vaccines but won't. Even when we do return to office it'll be a hybrid at the beginning. No more than 50%.
