Have heard that mgmt is expecting an exodus - that would be a surprise. Anyone else planning to resign once bonuses hit?

I am applying . If I find something better, I am leaving.
“Maybe I’ll get an MBA. Who knows.”
“The remote environment has made this job a burden”.
“Maybe I’ll just buy more Dogecoin and take a trip to the moon! 🧑🏻🚀🐕🚀🚀🚀💎”
I see your problem. You set your sights so low that you cannot fail, or attempt to get jobs beyond your abilities so that when you miss it is understandable.
The remote environment gives you unbelievable opportunities and time savings. Why not turn it around and actually get your MBA? Why not do zoom interviews?
WFH is a boon to any job seeker.
That would be trespassing, I suppose. In any case, there's lots of management that the company wants to cut...the more that leave voluntarily the better it will be for those that wish to stay. So, I salute you intrepid get-my-bonus-then-quit guy. Good luck and God's speed!
What if we all retire and don’t leave?
I'm out, right now.
I'm getting out. The company has been run into the ground by ex-wachovia meeting junkies and their good ol boy network.
Why would I resign? I love my job and work with great people. No place I'd rather be, other than retired, I guess. There'll be time for that though, in the mean time I'm enjoying the ride.
I see all these people constantly carrying on about the horrible job market. I'm not unsympathetic to those that is true for and certainly not trying to be snarky or smug but understand that's your job market. There's plenty opportunities for people with current tech skills.
I hit full retirement age this year but last year this time I planned to work all of 2021, double dipping SS for a few months but then I got dumped into a tech secretary role last September. At that point I thought ok I'll work till time to collect SS but this tech secretary business is for the birds. Bonus was good and pays tomorrow and I can handle few months without salary so I'm giving notice Monday. Take some weeks off find a contract job that interests me.
Nope, waiting out to take maternity leave over the summer.
I think I am the only person in the US applying for jobs, all these recruiters even offering me $2500 - $5000 per person that I refer to them to work on their projects/full time jobs!
That with my new $100k plus increase in my day job, i should be able to move up retirement even sooner than i thought
Send me your resumes, ill help you find a better job, my new side hustle selling your resumes to the head hunters
I just read an article that FINANCE job listings are up 3%. I've got a fairly high salary so it's taking a little longer than expected, but I've had on average 4 interviews a week for remote fintech jobs.
@txc+19f7zbj1, all companies are dumpster fires. I have never been treated fairly by any company that I have worked for. Wish I could retire now.
I look for a new job every single day. This place is a dumpster fire.
@kwn+19f7zbj, I would love to know where they are to be finding all of these jobs, myself. It's scary out there. I haven't been seeing much to apply to . It's very slim pickings.
I envy all of you who have found a new job. I'm looking but don't see anything.
Hi I am not in lower cost of living but in an area that gives business a tax break; taxes are a much higher cost than salaries.
Anyways I live in Maryland/DC area
Amazon and package is 340k with stock, salary and sign on bonus;
see ya!
Good riddance but good luck.
interviewing for a fintech company, they are in early VC stages, just started in 2020...
wish me good luck
Not immediately, but this year for sure.
I am. Although I seem to be in the minority who has a decent manager and was pretty comfortable in my role. It's almost hard to leave.
I guess it really depends on the location but tons of banks are resuming hiring now.
Yes - I was wondering the same thing. I suspect we'll hear about a lot of resignations/moves starting next week.
I just accepted a new job that is permanent remote, pays 25% more, matched or beat all of my current perks (PTO, bonus % target, etc.).
I am- I accepted an offer at a fintech that wisely went permanently remote. Searching for those kinds of roles was tough, especially with so many companies refusing to see the writing on the wall or being ambiguous about a return to a physical office. I'm also in the Northeast, and have been similarly frustrated by the shifting of work to lower-cost markets, but the jobs are out there if you look hard enough. Don't let their misguided hub strategy here get you down, good luck OP
OP here - no I live in NYC. Where do you live? Are you in a lower cost of living area where the jobs seem to be moving to? Seriously, would love to know your location, because I think I need to move. Thanks
i am resigning, got about 12 offers, market great where i live, and people keep begging me to interview all over. Where are you looking? Do you live in like Charlotte or Iowa or Phoenix or something? Those markets are dead
I would like to know where everyone who is getting a job is going... the job market in this industry is horrendous right now! There are so many financial services people who have been out of work since the fall of 2019 who can’t find jobs. The unemployed bodies are stacked up in NYC, Boston, San Francisco, Texas, etc. I have never seen anything like it in the last 20 years. This industry is shedding jobs left and right and they are never coming back even when the pandemic subsides. Technology, automation and off-shoring is leaving so many good people on the unemployment island.
Why would anyone resign unless they got another , better job lined up?
