Hi why would one branch refuse to send a wire in store, be so toxic about it was almost angry and hostile when another branch 10 minutes later treated me like royalty, did everything the previous branch said was impossible and then processed my wire. So weird. Why?

The appointment only Structure allows lazy bankers to deny customers of service
@1abr+19eF6s7q So,... you threw the I Ching on the internet and it told you to ask about a wire transfer without a PIN on a lay-off board?
The real answer to your question is that the first branch didn't know how to get around processing a wire without having a physical debit card present. Since the sales scandal, compliance has hammered so many arbitrary rules into bankers heads that they are now practically scared to do something thinking they will get fired if it's not done by the book and the way compliance tells them to. One of these being completing a wire transfer without a debit card present and a pin number. It's not just the first branch though. When I was a banker, practically no one knew how to set up the PIN only function, not even the branch managers. I've seen so many bankers/tellers get fired because they did an override they shouldn't have done when the system let them and didn't have proper training, or god forbid break dual control for a minute. It is truly the I gotcha! bank. I realized quickly that if you just show up, do the bare minimum and don't get too involved with sketchy transactions, then you really had to go out of your way to get canned.
When I posted, for HELP, originally I didn't realize it was specific to layoff. Thanks for letting me know and I am sorry this is happening to anyone. It has not been an easy 2020. Best to all of you.
More importantly.......why are you posting this on a LAYOFF site????? SMH
Interesting, well one thing is that they said I didn't have a pin number, but that is b/c I don't like debit cards. They wouldn't assign me a pin number just for the account. The second branch suggested they assign me a pin number just for the account, b/c I didn't have a debit card. Note: my entire savings is in said account and I don't want to have a debit card attached. It feels safer I guess.
That is interesting feeback.
Just a guess, but perhaps the 'toxic branch' is closing and the team knows it?
