I didn't post the article, I just read it. In any case, I love my job and know many people in my group that do as well. I hope I get to stay here until I retire, I literally have my dream job. In my experience, satisfaction is largely dependent on the group and the individuals in it. Maybe my group is unique in this, but either way, not "everyone" hates working here.

You picked a strange thread to post the story. I could post a story about seniors hating their jobs, or women hating their jobs, or a certain ethnicity hating their jobs. It doesn’t mean I agree/disagree. It doesn’t fit the theme of the thread. I think everyone hates working for Wells, so I don’t see the rationale in pointing to a certain group. That’s just me. Didn’t mean to come on so strong.
@vxz yes, clearly a thread on a layoff site with whopping 17 participants (and counting!) is superior evidence compared to a study of literally a million workers. Stereotypes are not helpful, but these are willing respondents...so the results of the study are millennials talking about their own perspective, it's not a bunch of Get Off My Lawn guys making assumptions about anyone. So I guess the question is, why are you dismissing the opinions of millennials? In my own personal experience, millennials are like just about any other group you could describe–some are great, some are ok, and some can't/won't do their job.
Based on the current situation with the pandemic, definitely! Jobs are hard to come by, especially if you're an older worker. I was displaced in early December so the decision was made for me but despite the negative aspects, there's a sense of relief. By far, one of the worst work experiences in my lifetime.

Your analysis is off. I would have said this particular thread is more middle-aged to older participants. Odd that you can be wrong and still manage to pass judgement.
Take an anonymous poll of employees, ex-employees, customers, regulators, shareholders, vendors, the general public: who doesn’t hate Wells Fargo?

I don’t see where that has anything to do with it. A slaughterhouse worker is working to put food on his family’s table but that doesn’t mean he can’t hate the slaughterhouse. A teacher might be working in an inner city school because she loves kids, it doesn’t mean she can’t hate the inner city school and how it’s run. My grandfather fought for his country, but it doesn’t mean he loved war. People do what they have to do.

I hate almost everything about WFC. No matter what bs they spew to the regulators, in meetings and on commercials: they are here to make as much money off their clients as they think they can get away with. New management team no different from the old team. In fact, they might be worse because they are smarter and will be better at hiding how they take advantage of customers or blurring the lines.
Having said that, I do love my department and my manager. He’s very good at balancing the corporate bs with taking care of his team. He’s not cut throat though, so I hope he can survive the new regime.
yeah, people that have moved on to a dream job with huge pay don't waste their time on a forum like this. Call me a skeptic, but if I moved way up the chain elsewhere and was making the big bucks, I would have better things to do than hang out here.

I didnt want to leave, but then just getting more and more toxic here and really wasnt worth it.
I moved to a new company up 2-3 levels and a much better pay structure too!

Don't let that deter you from looking. Better to look for a job while you have a job, honestly. I had the same hesitation for years. But I found a job with a company that is much more stable, higher pay, and negotiated a permanent wfh/remote status (thank you, pandemic silver lining).
It doesn't hurt to look, then you are brushed up and prepared should you get blind-sided by a layoff.
I don't want to leave, love my love and the people I work with are great. Obviously on this site I'm in the minority, but that's ok. I do keep tabs on the job market simply because no job is truly "safe" in 2021, but I don't want to step off the stagecoach.
My reason for staying is I'm older. I don't want to jump around. Well, when I was younger, I stayed at companies for a while until I felt it really necessary to leave.
One company I stayed too long and was trying to leave but wasn't fortunate and stopped looking but they eventually laid me off.
While I'm not happy here, it's not as bad as the last company that I worked for but I guess it depends on the department you're in.
I hope to stay on but I guess right now I don't decide.
I think this describes a lot of us at this point. For me at least, staying is mostly an act of stubbornness, staying safe during Covid, and being able to WFH. There are other opportunities out there, I’m sure, but potentially checking out this close to the finish line (and severance) would seem like a waste.
