It's not the only factor, but they really seem to be pushing to get all the businesses in hub cities, if possible. I understand the logic of it, but it s—s for people that like working for WF but happen to not be in one of the hubs.

There's some pdf maps floating around showing the hubs. IIRC it was the usual suspects, Tempe, Minneapolis, San Antonio, Des Moines, Charlotte etc. I haven't seen a recent version of this map though, and it seems like the only hub that matters to those at the top is NYC.

Yeah, because everyone works in a desk in an office during a pandemic or after, esp in 2021. Eye roll. This place is old school. They want to force attrition this way.
Take a serious look at other businesses. People don't recognize the depth of American business. Try a new field with a parallel job (go from accountant here to an accountant at a shipping company).
I have done this in the past and it was a wonderful break to get out of the fear driven banking field.
