Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Are changes to your RSA Secure ID by OKTA email indicating layoff?

Changes were made to my RSA SecurID indicating that I enrolled in a multi-factor authentication for my account.

I didn't enroll in this activity.

Is this a way of locking me out after layoff?

Okta is what we use for 2-factor identification for customers and now employees. It's normal and nothing to worry about at all.

Just go ahead and turn in your badge and laptop, 'cause if this is your outlook, then you shouldn't be here.

I got mine months ago and much and all as I'd like a package, nothing has happened. I wish it were true but I'm not thinking it is.

@ujw+19cPWhF1 so basically anyone who got the email is on the list?

@ujw+19cPWhF1 Do you have inside information on this?

I'm not the OP but if that is the case, then when is the next round?

Yes. It means your package has been processed and is waiting for the next delivery and notice period. It’s a slight slip up in this round. Someone checked a box to send notifications to the recipients when they weren’t supposed to.

IT is the very last group to know about layoffs in other groups, that's why contacting them for various reasons is on the term checklist, so I doubt this is a sign of anything term related.

I had to use it to download my W2 for taxes from home (since you can't email it to yourself). Did you do this by chance?

We changed to Okta as a 2FA solution because it's the best in the business. Nothing else to see here.

@ OP - I received this too. It specifically states if I don't recognize the activity, to call the security number, if I didn't enroll into the multi-factor authentication.

I didn't request this activity.

doubt it. seems like a better, next way of doing authentication from home devices. then again, does this mean that i'm now going to have to buy my own computer for work?

I seriously doubt it.
IT is always tweaking the security policy to make things more secure. That is why you have to change your password over and over again. I wouldn't say that is an indicator of a layoff either.
