Let's look at what we know for sure. WF is laying off, we've been told that. What we do not know is when and how many. Since we know layoffs are coming, there is no point in trying to guess when. Get your application in to Home Depot as a greeter.
While smaller displacements can and do happen at any time, there are big dates on the calendar for larger re-org displacement events. March 25 and April 29 are the next two. Beware of Thursdays. If you're not in the group, you'll never be told about the others, for privacy and non-transparency. You'll just start seeing zz email bouncebacks, even though those folks are still in the directory. They're technically still employees through the non-working notice period, but they are gone...

I know for a fact that they're backed up until August at this stage because they can't physically process more than a few hundred a week. Between layoffs and getting folks back to the office, it's going to be a chaotic year indeed. We'll see what Saul says today (not that I expect anything).
Unfortunately, OP is not trolling. COVID really did impact layoffs over the past year and HR is getting better into gear to handle the regular rhythm of the process.
This week is indeed our first serious week of layoffs and it will become ever more efficient. I am sorry to be the bearer of the bad news.

EVERYDAY is layoff day. They are rarely doing mass layoffs because that woukd garner congressional scrutiny, so instead, they layoff 40 to 200 people per day across geographies.
Then on weekend they hire 400- 1000 indian nationals in india.
It should p!ss you off....so call your congressional representative and let them know.
Its a political matter when hundreds of a politicians employees are axed IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC just so charlie can get his stock performance awards.
The bank is padding its bottom line by replacing american workers with foreigners in india.

WIMT devs were just reorg’ed a couple weeks ago. Platform and Engineering is up next and will happen within the month.

our group had a re-org a few weeks back, so they were not moved to Q3
Company-wide reorganizations have been pushed back until early 3rd quarter. A bit of a reprieve for everyone.
