Seems like a lot of people have grown complacent (again), due to not fully understanding the length of time it takes to complete layoffs of this projected magnitude. Not sure what’s worse, panic mode or people thinking they’re untouchable.

Unfortunately my tech skills have suffered. I can train and certify till I’m blue in the face, but there’s really no opportunity to put the skills to work here. Unless passing around spreadsheets is a skill...
They've probably completed less than 20% of the layoffs they plan on, why anyone would be complacent at this juncture is beyond me–not that any job is truly "safe" in the long term.
You're probably confusing complacency with acceptance.
Nobody can control their destiny with layoffs, so it is better to accept that it can happen at any moment (like death) and stop worrying about it.

who cares, you people can better yourself, you owe this company nothing. Dont sit here whining being a victim when there are so many better opportunities in stable companies now. I would not sit here and wait for these people to change. Almost impossible to change people and you should worry about what you can control.
They don't care abt morale!
