Discrimination for Health Issues

Does anyone feel like they are being discriminated because of Covid-19? I even had a manager tell me no one is going to want you. This company needs to clean house.

I was discriminated for health issues before Covid even happened so I am not surprised this happened at all.

My daddy had a saying I live by...”some people are just a-holes”. Some are managers, some are employees. That’s life, people. Hope you all have a long one.

@1vkg - You are representative of why the pandemic got so out of control in this country, not to mention what’s wrong with too large a number of its citizens. There is a reason why many other countries got this under control why this one is still struggling. Most people in the world did the sensible thing and wore the dam mask.

My spouse is a health care worker who I do not like to see still at risk after a year of this. Not to mention those folks are just worked to death and tired.

Only the nk95 masks really have any value. The bast majority of people who think that they are wearing a mask are wearing them incorrectly or wearing an ineffective mask. Sorry to break this to you.

@1vkg+19QsDpmm - MASKS DON'T WORK.

And that's the kind of thing I heard from anti-masker customers and the team members in question. It's those statements and actions that I'll be bringing to the forefront.

Masks work. Unfortunately though, for masks to work people must wear them. Even stupid people.

If you take covid so seriously in Cali, then why are your case #s per capita some of the highest in the country? I'll answer for you, it's because MASKS DON'T WORK.

Anti-masker team members? How is that even possible? Where I am customers are not allowed into branches without masks, and then only a few at a time. How are employees able to help customers without masks on?

I don’t work in a branch, so maybe I’m missing something, but this doesn’t sound right. Maybe it’s a location thing? I’m in Cali. We take Covid seriously here.

Absolutely! I'm over 60 with pre-existing health conditions. The stress of dealing with anti-masker customers is one thing but when team members blatantly refuse to follow the guidelines and purposely flaunt it to taunt you, it's another issue all together.

I raised my hand repeatedly and nothing was done. Finally, after a rather terse exchange with an anti-masker team member, I said I was going to escalate the situation. Two days later I was displaced. I contacted HR and they found no wrong doing. I have an attorney and we'll be pursuing this.

What do you mean by "discrimination"? As far as I can tell, people have been taking a full year off with full pay and no work due to "COVID". Can I be discriminated against like that, please?

Dunno, but I did put up with years of s-xual harassment as a queer man because the Supreme Court hadn't gotten around to deciding I had any rights yet. Eventually they got rid of that manager after I documented everything.

When I had lung cancer though, Wells didn't bother me at all. It's a great place to die, although the coverage for cancer treatments wasn't so great and nearly bankrupted me.
