Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

We need better training

Training for new employees is lacking, to say the least. We are at the point where people are leaving constantly because they are thrown into the deep end without being prepared properly. Then we get new people who are trained poorly and again thrown into the deep end too soon. So they leave as well. And so on... While all of this is happening, the rest of us end up having to do the work they were brought in to do. This system can't last much longer...

In fairness, he is a product of San Francisco public education. It’s unreasonable to expect grammatical or verbal literacy. In all honesty, it gets him in step with the clients.

Not condoning it, simply pointing it out...

Welcome to my world! I provide training for a specific system (not going to tell you which one because that would probably ID me and I really like my job...and the paychecks...), whether it be one-on-one or a large group and refresher training as-needed, but some people are still effin' id–ts!

"WAH! I wasn't trained on this system!"
"Bull$hit! Here's the screen grab of the attendees, the questions that you asked and the agenda."

Training?!? hahahaha! Instead, they ram all these "Develop You" courses down our throats that are so remedial and insulting, complete waste of time. I have numerous certifications and have worked at high caliber organizations as a high performer. I don't need intro to Risk 101 by Mandy or Root Cause 101 by Mandy either. GTFOH!

The high horse elitists in the executive suites think they know it all and you know sh–!

why dont you go to school or do some online training? Take responsibility for your career versus just expecting everyone to drag you along

The training I received to be a banker was inadequate at best. I got the basics (opening accounts etc.) but quickly found most of the scenarios I encountered were not even touched on in training. I was fortunate that my manager and other more experienced bankers were there for support and the banker support line became my best friend. Realistically, it can take a year or more before you start to get comfortable.

who cares all management needs to be replaced. They are an embarrassment plus the poor non talent workers they employ

I agree with the OP. It's been like this in almost every department I've been in. It's frustrating to be blamed for not knowing something when there is no person or document to learn it from. Management gets mad when you ask them because they don't know either.

OP must have worked on Risk and Controls under Roman Arias world. No training for anyone. Train by fire is Amanda Anders style who is Romans puppet. Everyone is miserable here.

Lol. We bust @ss putting training together for the company. The materials are there. It's a matter of if your department requires you to take it and then has you working side by side with a member of your team to guide you when you start out.

You can educate yourself with the proper usage of your and you're. How's that for uneducated? Pot calling kettle.

If your senior level, you should be able to walk in anywhere and just take the reigns and push all the uneducated people here out of the way. I know I had to do that when I worked here, never seen people decades behind this way. They are super lazy prob the main cause.

Exactly. It's not just Wells Fargo. I have been thrown to the wolves on many jobs without training.

Unfortunately that happens in a lot of companies these days. They don’t want to take the time to train anyone properly whether it is a big bank or the grocery store.
