Just heard that there is a HR review of job titles and bands? Has anyone heard about this or any details?

We have three Team leaders for 24 associates and one manager . I think our office is just a little too heavy . They need to start to start trimming the fat , literally .

This happened when AW the Wireless CIO moved over to Wireline and split one director job into 3 director jobs and the same for VPs in order to take good care of his friends he brought over from Wireless. The outsourcing to Infosys piled on more overhead.

Why do we need manager or Sr manager for every 6 employees. Flat model is better. They just approve time sheets , they just attend the calls.
It seems like we do this every two years, but its an effective tool to insure the span of control rules are not abused which is frequent occurrence at the Director and VP levels.
Hopefully they will finally get rid of the following positions:
Bucket Trucker
Wire Puller
Pole Climber
Hole Hider
Garage Boss
Yes this is legit, effective 4/5 in many cases. New job families, job titles, etc.
It’s been a two year project. Will be a much needed change including potential comp increases for a lucky few.

Jobcode/Titles are being reviewed and mapped in preparation for the HR move from PeopleSoft to WorkDay. Simple as that.
For real they keep trying cuts every where besides where needed most. Useless leadership. 1 good frontline worker is worth 10 directors or district managers.

Hopefully they are reviewing the Senior Manager, Associate Director, Director, Executive Director, Associate VP, VP and Executive VP positions. This company is so top heavy I am surprised it is not crushed by its own weight.
I heard they were thinking about 10% raises across the board...Has anybody heard anything ??
