In my four years with the bank I've had four managers.
Is this a common thing here at Wells?
How many managers have you had since joining the bank?

22 months . Two immediate managers changed so far. . Two senior leaders changed . One fired. . One senior executive fired . Another now in charge. Life is good.
I’ve been here 13 years and 11 different managers (one of them I had twice). My longest stretch was 5 years with the same manager, but then I hit the re-org spin cycle and had 4 different managers in 10 months.
I have been here 2.5 years and now have a 4th manager after a reorg to another LOB.
Keep s—ing up to Wells Fargo b–ches, creeps, tyrants , drama queens that is how they reward promotions, raises, bonuses, stocks and extras.
Career advancement, here?
6 managers in less than 5 years. Really frustrating as you're never working with someone long enough to have them participate in your career advancement.
15 years, three pomotions, but basically same team lead role on same team. 8 different managers.
In 22 years:
First job was only 10 months, same manager
Second job was only 10 months, same manager
Third job was 3 years, hiring manager left within months, we then reported to their boss who ignored us for a year and a half until we got the first decent manager I had ever experienced here. That person left for a better job after a while and we were managed by a peer until I left.
Fourth job was 1 or 2 over the 3 years I was there. Honestly can't remember because I actively tried to forget working for that group. So dysfunctional.
Fifth job was 1 manager over 3 years, that manager was ok, but kind of weak imho. I was reassigned to a peer manager who was the first really good manager I had. That manager still manages that group to this day and I've been out of that role for 8 years. Even my 2 up manager was great in that role.
Presently on the 6th job about to hit my 8th anniversary in this role. Hiring manager was awesome, moved on to greener pastures after about 3 years, though I saw that they were laid off in one of the recent rounds. Next manager we had for about 3 years was another good manager. The first remote manager I've had who actually fought for people regardless of where they were. Now we report to our former team lead, which is great.
Three in nine years. In the same role essentially the entire. One manager left, another got demoted and the third is clueless about the LOB we support. Go figure...
Been with the bank 10 years. Lost count of the managers, but in the less than 3 years I've held my current position, I've had 4. Based on spans and layers, I'm sensing another change before the end of the month.
Seven in about 20 years, all from changing positions on my own.
10 in not quite seven years.
3 managers in the 7 years I have been here. I would like to get away from current manager, though. She and I have been together for about 5 years and her absentee management is driving me insane. I can't do it anymore. I pray for a reprieve.
8 managers in just under three years
In my eight years, I have eight terrible managers from Senior Director, Director, SVP, VP but they are absent all the times they fly on business class, stay and dine at 5 stars hotel and restaurants on Wells Fargo expenses. These people are professional social rats in Well Fargo.
I’ve changed managers twice in three years. Those were a result of my manager getting a promotion or me getting a promotion.
One manager in 3 years in Technology
3 managers in 1 year
7 in 4 years
Here over 1 year so far and have had 2 managers. Though in practice the same original manager is basically still my manager.
4 in under 2 years.
5 managers in 12 years. All laid off or just gone one day with no explanation, except for the current one who can’t make a move without checking with his boss first.
4 in 14+ years, one of which was the result of a very short term reorg "oops, we changed our mind" kind of thing, so really, 3. Every change was due to retirement or me changing roles.
5 years 4 managers. IT group, not a branch employee.
5 managers in 5 years.
One was possibly the dumbest person on Earth, the others were good people but basically tormented by people 2-4 levels up with questionable ethics, dishonesty and terrible decision making.
@rec+19NMnpRa, i think i had the last one you mentioned too; also had one that used 4 letter words on a regular basis and one recently working 2 jobs but he got layed off anyways, so prob good he had another job ready.
I was with Wells for 15 year (recently laid off) and in that time I had at least ten managers. 2 were exceptional, most were mediocre to bad, and one was the devil. They were eventually walked out, but they did their damage before that happened.
I’m on my third and I’ve been here 1.5 years.
4 managers in 16 years.
Only one but I'm only here a year and I hope it stays that way.
I’ve had four managers in 18 months. Before that I had the same one for years. So it is only within the last couple of years this has become common.
