location exceptions

anyone know if the control executive or other FL teams are granting location exceptions? Heard recently that corporate risk will not, and will also not allow telecommute agreements (even for existing) which really limits a lot of people for promotion or even lateral moves.

Looking for info on San Antonio TX market specifically if anyone knows groups that have that location as a hub/approved location. Corp Risk only has the Dallas market.

for those interested or who are not aware HR is only approving the following corp risk locations on new positions:
Minneapolis, Des Moines, Phoenix, Charlotte, Dallas, St Louis (this is up for discussion apparently), NY

If you're outside of these locations and in IRM, good luck finding someone that will give you an exception. Guess MN is using this as a strategy to avoid layoffs. Relo is not going to be provided.

Agree with poster saying this is being used by MN to force attrition, while they can have their cake and eat it too by not "committing" to the hub strategy in risk. Even if they're dragging their feet on implementing the hard side to it, the ridiculous approvals needed for a non-hub employee to get hired internally have resulted in de facto blacklisting them.

In a lot of ways I think that's worse, and typical WF half-assedness. It's led to a lot of my teammates not quite realizing that there's a target on their backs, and the rest becoming extremely demoralized while the whip is cracked even harder.

The Wiseman campus is huge but it’s classified as a lending hub iirc. I’ve been full time telecommute since hire and my nearest location strategy hub is AZ. Just waiting for it to start back up and see if relo’s will be offered again.

What’s interesting is several people in non Hubs were promoted in Risk last year end review cycle. Might just have been good timing but it was a bit surprising.

Operations under Scott Powell hasn't yet implemented the hub location strategy, and it's unclear if they even plan to.

On the mn piece, basically it’s using forced attrition in the fact that you Won’t be eligible for promotions/lateral internal moves if you’re not in a core location. So at some point, people will just leave because they’ll be better paid elsewhere and who wants to stay in one job for the rest of their careers?

Locations are by LOB but risk and coo are both the core 7 listed above

I think relocation options would be case by case basis, but it does appear they are holding hard and fast to the location strategy even though she keeps saying no decision has been made.

I thought the Minneapolis hub shut down? Maybe that was only certain LOBs.

No idea if IRM is there, but the Wiseman campus in San Antonio is huge and should be a hub before anything going on in Dallas. It's even getting a massive new solar power array, so it'll be a hub for the long term.
