Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Why Downvotes?

Saw this in a different thread...

What I don't get is this: on a site dedicated to sharing information about layoffs, every time someone posts potential layoff dates, those posts are down-voted - and the OPs are called trolls and fake news spreaders. But why?

If you don't believe that WF is laying off people then why are you even reading/posting here? Ongoing layoffs are an indisputable fact. It is also a fact that layoffs will continue until the desired savings are achieved. Even if the dates are totally wrong, down-voting every post will not make it be not so!

It doesn't matter if it's 3/9, or 3/18, or 3/25, or any other date - it may be all of them - plus many others. The "RIP Your Career" poster could've been 100% correct on any dates they called simply because the layoffs are all over the bank, on different days, and if you are in Credit Cards but layoffs were in Legal or Automotive or Corp Properties, then to you they are a "troll".

To the OP and @ovl+19MBB3YY. Thanks for the dates. You could have the most accurate info, but without some degree of specifics, it is not helpful or credible. Those who expect to be cut are living in limbo - which is mentally exhausting. If you truly know that on a given date some area is targeted - then give that detail: on 3/25, 999 heads will roll in .

Cos it’s just mindless trolling and how you cannot see that completely baffles me

Because some internet rando keeps posting "RIP Your Career Random Date" and it never happens.

It's someone who enjoys making others worry about their livelyhood.

If the post had some other useful info that would be great, that's why we're here, but there's one jeckahff who thinks the pain and worry of others is funny.

RIP your upvote.

I'll down vote any post that doesn't have real information to share, and by "real" I mean something with useful specifics. Otherwise it's trolling and instilling fear into people for "fun", which deserves a down vote. All employees are in this together, then some clown comes in acting like it's funny and being flippant about people are losing their jobs.

Also, the info is clearly fake news 99% of the time. When you tell an entire employee base "RIP your career 03/25/21" and it's actually not the end of anything for the vast majority of the 260,000 employees it's inaccurate information. Besides, dos this guy even know what a "career" is? It doesn't have to be with a single employer, for most people it isn't. So yes, that post annoys me on many levels.
