I quit a month ago to pursue my own business. I have been working non-stop six days per week but am happier than I have been in 15 years. This week was the first time without a paycheck. I am living on savings and couldn't be happier. I went to a branch on Friday for a notary, and the gloom and doom were palpable. I am so glad to be gone but worry about those who are still there enduring the mental toll and never-ending abuse that is the current status quo at Wells. Take a chance on yourself. Get out of this toxic company!

Did the same, quit at the end of January, starting up a business, having a great time.
Planning on giving a portion of the profits to dog rescue and homeless shelters, not planning on creating hundreds of thousands of unwanted customer accounts.

Ignore the trolls. I've been with the company a long time, and no one is going to try to "destroy your confidence". This isn't boot camp. It's pretty much your standard corporate / banking environment. When you have 1/4 million people, sure there's going to be some c-ap managers, but they are a very small minority. Whiney snowflake ICs? Now those we have a lot of.
@1pyv+19LJGisN, hey sound like your new, will take 12-24 months before you will be on the abuse track, its a process: they real you in first, then try to destory any confidence you have, so very important to be very strong in your beliefs, dont let them change those. Your day is coming, once it does, enjoy!
Plus pay no where near other companies, not even one.
I'm just the opposite of what most are saying. I left a very toxic, abusive company to come here. When I say toxic and abusive, I am not exaggerating. My manager enjoyed berating me and others almost daily. She blamed everything she could think of on you. This company was a fortune 500 company and bragged that they were the best places to work. I couldn't get out the bed. The pay was great but the culture was awful.
When I came here, it was a breath of fresh air.
To those that think only Wells Fargo is a toxic company, you have a rude awakening. It's Corporate America. They have their problems and maybe they don't pay well but I would rather be here than where I was taking someone's abuse. It happens everywhere. Read the other boards.
See you have to understand these people, some on this boards are probably some of them on here, the ones that say the abuse is not real. For me coming from the outside, I know companies do not operate like this, this is way out of line how they behave in the cult like manners. Anyways, for me I am not the cult type and wasnt sure if they were really trying to destroy me and even others completely. I'm guessing the one's staying are part of it.
Anyways I have recently moved on now, moved way up the food chain, love my job again and really enjoy the new company, no abuse there at all.
I just really wish they’d give us the option for a voluntary displacement. Having to stay in an environment with low morale JUST to get a package and unemployment benefits is awful.
I’m sure they make things this c-appy to get people to quit instead.

True, no one works harder than small business guy. That said, it can lead to a huge income much quicker than slowly working one's way up the corp food chain.
Entrepreneurs are the only people that work 80 hours a week so they don't have to work 40.
I don't understand how people leave and then say they feel sorry for everyone else who are still here. I agree with what someone else said, don't look back. Don't pretend to worry about everyone else. Be happy of your good fortune but some of these posts sound like humble bragging.
When I leave a company, that's it. I'm done and I really don't care about what happens to others who remain. It's their choice and maybe it works for them to stay. Either way, be blessed and don't look back.

These posts really make me laugh. Either stay or go but enough of the playing the victim already. Strap a set on and do something with your life other than whining. Geez.
"happier than I have been in 15 years" - sounds like it wasn't the toxic workplace or if it was, its been this way long before the current mgmt. that's what i continue to not get - if you're not happy, get happy and go. instead of being viewed as the naysayer and minority who wants this to be a different company than it is and is going to be. come to grips. come to reality.
Tip for life: never argue from a position of ignorance. You don't know me. You don't know my team, and you don't know my LOB, so you have no evidence to base your comments on, it's just random flailing. Your group might be "abusive", but mine isn't. Deal with it.
Also, everyone uses the words "abusive", but they never ever provide any specifics. This suggests to me that's it's not real abuse, it's just people whining. If you really have been abused there's literally thousands of lawyers that would love to take your case and win you millions in settlements. Why aren't you doing that? Probably because you weren't abused. If you were, spill it. I'd very much like to know what exactly is happening when you are "abused".

I know the abuse and its bad here, They dont even care they are driving people into mental health issues. This is without a doubt WORSE EMPOYER IN THE UNITED STATES.
I would never recommend anyone work here, not even my worst enemy. The abuse is not mental, but it is still not legal.
I am glad I left and ill never come back to this criminal network. I am now in a workplace that treats people with respect and never plays the mental games. Bunch of Psycho paths in management, they are doing as done in the communist countries, and what kind of company has NO HR Department?

Good for you OP. I'm not "abused" in the slightest, and my group isn't "toxic", so I disagree with the characterization, but to each their own. I'm glad you're in a happier place.
