Not sure about layoffs, but I walk past a Bank of America branch in my home town and it was dead as a door nail, I walked past the Wells Fargo branch and looked inside and the place was booming, never seen so many people. I don't work in a branch or do sales but I was proud to see our sales team kicking serious a**, made me smile.

Go look at a newer Chase branch and you'll realize that most bankers/tellers will be "re-purposed."
