Thought I’d share that a lot of jobs are being posted to make it look like Wells is hiring. They rarely are. This is only for image. They pull the jobs or freeze them with no intention of growing a company where they are looking to layoff a total of 70-80k. The plan is to become smaller and more nimble than BOA. Don’t believe me? Wait and see.

Are you shotgunning the resume out to only Big Bulge Banks or all banks?
Wells Fargo is not considered bulge bracket.
@1oij+19IjpG62, I absolututely am shotgunning my resume out! I was forcibly moved into a new group with my current one that is like WWIII working in there. Why wouldnt I shotgun it out? HR should be saving me versus blacklisting my resume.

I believe it to be true that some of them are fake. I applied for two internally and they both were listed as review for more than five months. Then they were pulled. As being pretty senior, the top is far more sneaky than you could imagine. No, I’m also not a troll. The company is also going to sell off so many LOBs that there won’t be much of a company left.
yea fake jobs, like tech secretary role to make it look like HR is busy, just like tech secretaries do running spell check which all that can be done in 2 hours a week.
Wells seems to be the only big bulge bank that has such a huge infrastructure to post for internal jobs. But if you look at how many external candidates are being regularly hired, you know that they do not really believe in internal mobility. While the average employee is a shade worse than the competition, the rest of us are actually bright and sharp. The people who follow this portal generally mean well and can find a job elsewhere somewhat easily. But the bank has chosen to paint everyone with the same brush and treat internal candidates to be generally far worse than any one from outside.
Look at how many people we have hired from JPMC alone. It is a shame to assume that the person leaving JPM to join Wells Fargo is the best of JPM. Actually, it is the opposite. These are people who cannot be a high perform by JPM’s standard. So we are getting the blow par JPM crew to take the spots for which Wells’ best are not being considered. This is the next scandal waiting to be uncovered.
Here's some advice. HR knows when you folks are just shotgunning your resume out. Basically you get almost blacklisted. You need to be more selected showing that you want the job, not just a job that isn't your current one.
And there is no such thing as fake postings. If they are only up for a day, they already had someone picked out and didn't really need any other applicants. Just a formality
I wonder if it’s true. Have applied for 15 jobs, got declined on 7 of them.. gave interview for 1; didn’t hear back anything. Others are still sorting in review/applied status.
i apply for about 20 internal ones, only heard back once from one, and then never heard back again, about 80% of them later cancelled.

Everyone knows smaller is the objective, but not all job postings are fake. I have first hand knowledge of multiple legitimate postings and they will be filled so I'll go ahead and put this thread in the 'likely fake news' category.
I accepted a job this week so they aren't all fake. I think a lot of postings are for jobs where the manager already knows who they are hiring.
Aaaaand... You know this how? Anyone can troll this site with bold accusations, but if you can't provide context, why even bother?
