Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

"Business Initiatives"

Nearly everyone with this phase in their job title are glorified secretaries/messengers.

Their jobs are to pass messages between people, schedule meetings, and paste other people's work into PowerPoint.

These people have no original output. Everything they put forth as work is really the work of other people.

Why does Wells Fargo pay so many people 6 figure salaries to never perform original work?

Seems like a good opportunity for cost savings. Put that money towards positions whose work actually progresses the company.

I'm pretty sure I know what floor of which building this comment came from xD. There's one team in particular that truly suffers under the CR c-ap, and spent literally years in exceptions to them....

@ouv+19I8aV3V Same reaction. Finding fault with the org structure and inefficiencies is understandable. Attacking individuals who are just trying to do the best in their roles, and support themselves and their families isn’t helpful. Be kinder, OP.

@uzi+19I8aV3V, your right, but on our side they are known as tech secretaries; they are pretty much useless and a complete waste of money

OP wants to have this title, clearly

I read this as being critical Of WFC Management decisions and WFC processes, not necessarily the employees hired to do the work. I could be wrong.

Perhaps the OP could clarify?

You're out if your element if you think those people don't do anything. Maybe not all of them, but the role is needed broadly speaking.

@wnx+19I8aV3V - You nailed it, this process heavy issue is k–ling efficiency... isn't the bank trying to do the opposite to save expenses?

If there is a way to F something up, complicate something, overdo something, make something more difficult, take something 5 steps backwards to move 1 step forwards, to obfuscate and confuse something that was previously clear: Wells Fargo will do exactly that.

Here we go again. Someone trying to throw others under the bus.

I work on a team full of software and infrastructure engineers, all know the CR process 100%. Couple years ago they created a team of Business Initiatives Consultants to take the CR process from us (we originally didn't care, as we all hate paper work). Now we have to fill out an online form that takes just as long as doing the CR itself, wait 48 hours for the new team to create an email, to send it to India folks, to create the actual CR. No sh–. Now when arbitrations happen, we don't even see them. It has to go through their consultants, then to our new "CR creating team", then they send an email to us saying there is an arbitration.

It makes about 5 things in the process worse than it was originally, and has increased our turn-around times, email traffic, and quality of work. Oh, and we don't even implement the changes we ourselves coded. We write up documentation for how EGS can deploy our code and pray they follow the instructions to the "T". Its about 30% successful.

yea there are a ton of roles like this, these people are not worth paying anything. There are others that only proof read cr's but have no idea when 50% of information from it is missing. What a waste of money!
