Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Anyone else feel completely let down by our politicans

Facts

  • 5000 or so low level sales people open up dummy accounts and fired
  • Exec's are either in the know or simply ignore the fact their incentive plans are causing people to commit crimes
  • Politicians like Liz Warren rain hell down on the place for a future political presidential bid
  • over the next 3 years all the executives are given million dollar packages to leave
  • all customer are made whole
  • gov't gets billions in fine money
  • Regulators are told by politicians they increase demands on employees at the company 20 folds
  • employees suffer mass abuse for years trying to meet regulator demands
  • billions are spent on outside consultants who are no doubt connected with politicians and paid them bribes
  • expenses go thru the roof for years, insanely higher than any other major bank
  • new executives come in and start mass replacement of Americans with Indians to lower expenses. They also go even lower by not simply offering packages. They don't want to pay packages so instead they PIP folks and don't pay bonus and toture them in a dare to leave

Old Executives made out with fat bail out money
Politicians made out, running for elections
Customers got refunds and lawsuit money
Gov't made out with billions in fines to pay for their fat pensions
3rd party consultants made out billing this place billions for a bunch of garbage work
New Executives like the new CEO who's like the highest paid bank CEO out there made out big time
Employees - screwed, just teach your replacement in India and work 12 hour days and weekends till your let go

This is your view of what happened. Politics aside, Wells spent years ripping customers off. Not just the fake account scandal. We admitted that one scandal lasted for almost a decade. When we got caught we thought we could treat it as business as usual. Spend years negotiating with regulators and legally challenging everything in court. As far as moving Tech to India and the Philippines, that didn'tstart when Charlie came. The strategy is something we've been working on for years. Moving the job is the last step in a very long process.

Good luck with that, Elizabeth Warren has a degree in speech pathology, Stumpf while long gone had a MBA in Finance. I guess this is the age of the Woke, free money, dumb money, and pot smoking dreams. Won't last much longer though, no one trusts their money with the woke.

I don’t blame the government for anything at all. If not for the government, Wells Fargo would still be ripping off customers, ruining their credit, illegally repossessing the autos of active service members, “mistakenly” repossessing homes, putting customers into investments that benefit the bank, and who knows what I’ve forgotten.

The bank isn’t looking out for the customer. Somebody has to.

Who would I rather trust with my money? John Stumpf or Elizabeth Warren? Hmmm.......

Ha ha San Fran employees struggling to rational their corruption which brought in the regulators, the results of their entire block lever pulling I’ll-informed voters and their corrupt state.

I predict migration to sane states, a revisit to their voting patterns and once again fouling up their new nests. What a screwball state and we are going to have to bail out New York and California once again. We are sick of it.

Next time want to secede, do you think that you arrange to allow other states to vote for your secession as well?

All the constant rework will sink this place. I know it does wonders for my morale.

Rework due to incompetence by folks who don’t know what they are doing or offshore will sink this place.

I looked for another job in Jan and had offers in Feb. They are massive raises from where I am now. It's all about contacts and skills.

Be well, colleagues, and work on your plan B. There are good companies out there who desperately need you and those companies have great culture/compensation.

Also, there's nothing "abusive" happening unless you're a total snowflake and find everything "abusive". Join the military and go to a war zone, then come back and tell us about "hell holes" and "abuse". You have no idea how privileged you are.

Wells Fargo being a corrupt abusive hellhole BECAUSE of regulation is an absolutely r—ded take. We would be even more enslaved to corporations if they weren’t checked once in a while. How could any thinking person look at the increasing inequality and big money buying off any attempt to rein it in, and come to the conclusion that it was regulation that was the problem.

It’s sweet that you care, but you clearly aren’t able to connect the dots in any way that resembles reality. Don’t vote.

lol, read up on the 19th or 20th century sometime! I agree that pols s—, always have and always will, and yes the only people being punished at WFC at this point are people that did nothing wrong, but the 21st century, so far, has been easy street compared to the two previous ones.

Politicians care about one thing and one thing only - themselves. If you're feeling all let down, best get over it because nothing will ever change for the better. As someone else pointed out, welcome to life in the 21st century.

“ employees suffer mass abuse for years trying to meet regulator demands”

I’ll never understand the victim mentality. We are a free market society and, in general, a vast majority of employees/employers are At-Will agreements. If and when something doesn’t go the way I need it I make changes so it does. If you stay the course to the point of “suffering abuse” you are willingly accepting that situation.

Very good summary of life in the 21st century. Nothing new; just realize this is the new norm and manipulate yourself onto the gravy train. Or ignore the facts and get left in the dust.
