Heard that out 1500 manual QA's, only 250 will be retained and rest will be let go
Any one knows if this is true and when is this expected to happen?

@2qov+19FSIMuM. You are criticizing OP for being illiterate? That is funny because I have found around six grammatical mistakes in your post.
Are any Wells Fargo Employees graduates of school systems outside of San Francisco or CA, and do any have post High School degrees from credible institutions?
If so, how do we get such incoherent utterances from teammates?

I count 16 grammatical errors in only 38 words, 4 of the words being completely misused. I read it twice and understand what the poster is trying to say... but how do we hire these people unless HR and hiring managers are illiterate as well?

Why not recruit actual talent from outside of San Fran Sicko? Virtually of the great Silicon Valley talent comes from the heartland. Why not hire literate business people from the heartland?

uhh, do you think based on qualification? if you cannot engineer, you're not even in consideration for being on the list.
Considering how messed up our test environments are, they will do more manual work than not because automation is just a dream under such conditions. But who would expect a company whose icon is a stagecoach to put the cart before the horse?
I suspect what's actually going to happen is that QA's will not be upskilled unless they have dev experience and have been helping out with dev work. The QA's who will be retained as engineers will still be doing manual QA deemed too critical or impractical to automate, and thus, their new titles will be lies, just like how so many managers have reports who don't actually work for them, just to save the manager's job from spans and layers.
Any group that moves to another one, will be setup to be pushed out. No way your new group wants you there or will help you, but keep a good paper trail. They like to sabatage others work so they look better. This is illegal in fact.
There are no rules here, so you need to keep all the information you can so you can prove these events were caused by workers with low self-esteem and no skill.
But weren’t the Tellers already moved into scrum yard engineers? If manual QA staff are moving into engineer roles too, will they be displacing the Tellers or working for them? I’m struggling to understand the plan.
I don’t understand tech but I think that it’s hard and Teller/QA is easy stuff. I tried to learn without A or B experience and lost that job. It seemed to be really hard to understand. I think it has got to be hard for a Teller or a QA tester or maybe I am just clueless.
So how will they decide which manual QAs to move into engineering roles
For sure they can't move lo 1500, and everyone would say they want to upskill to save their job

@mfi You misunderstand. It’s the part about Manual QA moving into engineer roles I am disputing. They are already setting them up to fail.

OP where did you get this info? A lot of the manual QAs will move to engineering role. If they are not able to upskill they will be let go. Saul has said many times we do not need manual QA role.
