Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Unionize!

For to long have the people of this firm allowed leader, executives and board member to divide and destroy this great company. It is time for us to form a Union of bankers, advisors and associates to protect our rights and have a say in the future of this company and industry! Viva la revolution

I’ve seen clueless many times but @OP+19Es3PPr truly takes the cake. Never read the business section of a newspaper in his life I’m sure. Never made it past the sports pages.

And they walk and work among us.

@lya+19Es3PPr I don't know about that , but I do have a BIL that works for a GM affiliate. He was making $45 an hour in 2006 with no post-high school education. Still works that job. Basically putting a bolt in a threaded hole. Not sure what his pay is now, but he's doing well. He met his wife while working on the line. They paid for her to go back to school to earn a doctorate in physical therapy, and paid her a $67k separation bonus (@ 2009). No student loans to pay back, plus a severance (that she chose to take).

Yeah, cause who would want anyone who would work for everyone rather than just for me, me, me.

Your statement just shows what is wrong with our country, and why a pandemic got out of control.

Unions are for id–ts. They are not free. They only work for the collective, not individual, which is very important to understand in case you file a harassment or workers compensation claim. They reward mediocrity in favor of seniority. They tend to be administered by incompetents. There is no equal employment reason to have one - state and federal employment laws are much stronger than unions.

Lol @ all these self-styled high performers spending their day defending WF on an anonymous layoff message board.

No way. Unfairly reward the low and non performers equally with those of us who are successful and high performers.

Every union leader I’ve met or saw on television are rich; the people they serve are broke. That should tell the world how well unions work. That said, not all unions are bad, the fire department union where I’m at are actually good and the union rep is not rich at all, she actually cares for the welfare KD the firefighters over money and politics.

Unions worked out well for the autoworkers in the 1980's, NOT! The unions screwed the workers to the ceiling with high pay and poor work. American cars in the 70's and 80's S—ED! Japanese automakers saw and opening, came in the much, much better quality and value... Detroit as a result is a ghost town. Unions ought to use a logo of a goose getting slaughtered while ripping out a golden egg. That's what they do. Unions s—.

So, the successful and performing employees get treated and paid like underperformers? No thanks. You must be an underperformer.

Ok, but no dues and no pay for union officers. Volunteer only. We don't need gold pinkie ring wearing fatcat union bosses.

Unions just create more politicians WITHIN companies. We already have too many politicians screwing us from the outside. Why would we want to line the pockets of more people on the inside?

No way! I prefer to keep my own voice; make my own choices. Unions (for a long time now) are only about making money for the union leadership to the detriment of their mislead/misinformed members.
