Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Bonuses for displaced team members

I was displaced in late 2020. My manager said I was still bonus eligible for 2020. Does anyone know if displaced team members are being paid bonuses? Are managers contacting displaced team members to communicate bonus information? I am curious if any displaced team members have heard anything yet. Also, are displaced team members given a performance rating? If so, Is the company giving low ratings to displaced team members so that they can justify not paying them a bonus?

I landed a new job and the new company is paying me my full 2020 bonus as a signing bonus so I don’t stand to lose anything... but I am still wondering what to expect from Wells.

Yes the company is giving people low ratings so they do not have to pay bonuses. I had my review emailed to me and it was shocking.

What if your manager is no longer a manager? Displaced or now a banker? I sent a text and they said they are now a banker and no longer are told anything. Have nothing to do with this. I still haven’t received anything. I tried calling HR and was on hold 45 minutes. I finally hung up.

I haven’t seen any letter nor the payroll tool reflects any bonus. Displaced in Q4.

  • yes, if you got displaced you are still bonus eligible on a pro-rated basis
  • managers are not calling to tell you about bonus nor are they conducting performance reviews
  • the bonus 'advice' is mailed to the recipient courtesy of HR operations
  • the bonus info was only released on weds, so depending on USPS and where you live in the country you should receive something in the next week before payout on Feb 5

I was also displaced in Q4. I have not heard from my manager about the bonus yet.

I was displaced Q4. Received email from former manager last night. Bonus being paid at 43% of target. Historically was at the 90-95% percent of target.

I have a new job and feel that the bonus is that that...a bonus.

Displaced Q4 as well. Was told incentive eligible but also told by another that management will probably not give any to displaced employees. Leaving my account open for direct deposit with fingers crossed for next Friday but not holding my breath. I haven’t heard a word from any management left at WF.

Does anyone know if my manager is supposed to call me to let me know what I am getting (or not getting)? I haven’t heard from anyone...

Yes, you're bonus eligible, but it all depends on how your manager wants to play the game. For example, if you were rated as "inconsistently meets" and displaced in Q4, was your manager planning ahead and gave you a 0% bonus (range is 0-50 for that rating)? Same goes for any other rating - if they knew you were being let go, they may have paid you at the minimum for your range.

Yes, you're still bonus eligible and if the "rules" are followed, your bonus should be the same as if you weren't displaced.

Wells Fargo bonus payouts are at the discretion of your manager and leadership team, in general.

It really depends on the relationship you had with your manager and how much effort they are willing to make to see that you get your bonus.

you're still eligible for the bonus if you were laid off; payout is next Friday so would guess your check will be in the mail unless they do direct deposit. No clue what to expect as far as amount/target for laid off people as I would guess that you'd get closer to the 50% of target as most layoffs were due to job being unnecessary or poor performance relatively.
