Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Raises

Confirmed. ALL GMs that are left will be getting a raise. Not the solutions specialist who are taking all additional responsibilities outside of their job description. Not the SM who are taking on more responsibilities now that the GMs have multiple stores and will never be there. Speechless at this point.....and unionizing is 100% the way to go for our job security and wages moving forward.

In case you missed the comment too.. multi store GMs are getting $5k to run 2 stores... Here's $2.40/hr to now run two locations... I know this is mostly reps on here.... but they are getting faqed

Multi store GM's are getting a raise. They are taking on 2 stores, but I agree that SM's will be taking on more as well. There is travel, more head count, and the GM will be delegating more to them because they will be making 2 schedules and dealing with 2 sets of HR issues. Keep in mind a year ago most stores had double the head count. So basically most stores dropped head count, but in the past as a normal 'A' level store you could have 10-14 specialist and 3-4 managers. They basically split that number between 2 stores. How do you get a raise for doing something others GM's did a few years ago?

Yeah, no. Not all GMs are getting a raise. Multi-store GMs are getting a flat bump of $5,000 for now having to run two stores.

To the person that made the comment about ATT closing stores.it is accurate that unions cant save companies from laying off workers and closing stores. But where your wrong is that even tho ATT closed stores, because we were UNION we were able to negotiate and was able to saves jobs by being reassigned work from home positions so get your facts straight...There is value in having a union... you cant wait til things get bad or get worse to want a union.

@1wxr+1976fP8F I’m a solutions specialist and yes I will get mad if one of my peers gets a higher percentage raise if they weren’t even in the store 6 months last year. That’s why the percentage should be the same across the board.

Why would it make you mad if someone got a higher raise? Because you are entitled? Because you are better at bossing your SM’s around? Because you are better at taking meaningless conference calls? Because you’ve been in the same position for 11 years and once every 5 you apply for a DM job and get passed up because the pinnacle of your career is GM.

Get with the program. There are businesses operating twice as lean without your position that have twice as much agility. You bring to the table 1 more headcount. That’s it, a number.

Think about everyone else that just went home to their spouse to tell them they no longer have a job. And you are complaining about the difference between 5-6%?

Thank the stars you have a job, keep your head down and don’t rattle any feathers because April is coming ;)

If Verizon does decide to give raises it should be uniform across the board. Maybe 4-5%. If I find out someone got a higher percentage then me and they were out 6 months last year because of covid and I was in the store the whole time I will go bat c rap crazy.

The only gms getting a raise are the multi store gms. NOT ALL GMS. They are going from managing 1 location to 2. Of course they would get a raise. Reps and sms don’t need a raise. Your clerks now who don’t even need to sell

Just go to the AT&T layoff website to see how well the CWA protects all the UNIONIZED retail employees. AT&T has closed more corporate stores than any other carrier in the past 12 months and the union can't do anything to stop it.
