Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Narcissists and Review info

As a tech lead, there are a lot of people not behaving the way they should behave.

Narcacist managers, they feel they are better more qualifed people than you. This can lead to negative effects in the narcasists life. For example, they have 0 ability to comprimise, not able to take critical feedback from other people and they do not apologize in general. They are known for a lack of empathy and they will harshly judge other people.

They want you to feel like their dog, so with a pet you do not listen to them, you are the master. This is how managers treat their employees. If you try to give constructive feedback they dont listen. THey say I am better than you, I am smarter than you, dont tell me what to do as i dont want to hear it . This is how the narcaccist managers here act as they believe they are born better, smarter or with no morality.

The critical thing you need to know about narcissists is they seem to have zero self esteem and very fragile egos. This is more or a reason for them to protect themself to maintain this fragile self image.

Understanding this will help you beat these narissist workers/managers at wells fargo. Seems like a large population here. This will come into play on your reviews so when you go in there dont take no for an answer and dont let them not listen to you. This is also a way they try to maintain control. Make sure they know you are the boss now and smarter.

'In' before the thread devolves into "you have psychological issues!"..."no, YOU have psychological issues!..."no, YOU..."

Oh wait, too late. Sometimes this place is like the elementary school playground.

I would not be surprised if all the people who downgraded the OP post, or called the post stupid are the exact “narcissistic managers” the post is referring to. There are way too many managers at Wells Fargo that fit into the category the OP described and they can be found not just in Tech but in other departments as well. They are like roaches and hard to get rid of and its sickening how they always are in management roles. I agree with the comments about standing your ground in regard to your performance review and making sure what you have to say is heard by disputing anything in the review that is not true. The only way to fight narcissistic managers is to know your integrity outweighs their b.s. and you MUST push back and stand your ground.

In our group in tech we have these 2 crazy type of personalities, most of the group being here decades has this victim mentality and the other part of the group takes 100 percent ownership for everything. Then on top of it the narcissist manager telling everyone they are the master, but they do absolutely nothing. This place is enough to drive people crazy, as all the meetings go on taking about stuff that really doesnt even matter.

I think maybe doing some mental tests to avoid hiring people who act in all 3 of these ways, but hiring people who are normal like myself only,

I just always tell my manager she is a genius and I feel honored to work for her! Seems to always work! Besides think about it for a second! WF has been managed horrible over the last ten years and they never looked to being someone new in and wipe out the old management. They just promoted the dumb people who kept saying their managers were genius! So get on board as we already know what it takes to move up at Wells Fargo!

One tip you can use on your reviews I used to get a 4 when my manger try to rate me at a 2, thing is I had proof so she had no denying it. I am a super fast typer, i do about 180 wpm. I know no one else in the company can type as fast as me. Basically being in tech, this allows me to do more work than that average worker. I out did all the coding put in git , double what any other developer did in our group. Also I was able to type a 50 page design document and turn it in in 3 weeks. Finally i did the most CR's by myself turn in and get approved.

I kept proof of the amount of work, so when took to the crazy manager, they stuttered, and i show how i did close to 10x amount of work of the below average workers in our group. I guess you can say I am best of the worst!

Exceptionalism is responsible for a lot or the narcissistic behaviors exuded by the upper-crust of our societies, so the sycophant must acquire the same...

I despise yapping lap-dogs...

I have found that my tech lead partners don’t often actually lead and let the developers do whatever they want no matter how it inconveniences people.

Once upon a time, that would send you out the door with a box, back when mediocrity was not accepted.

OP I agree. Stand up for yourself and don't let these people manage you by fear. I personally would rather go down fighting with dignity and self-respect versus allowing these people to continue on with their unethical misconduct and intimidating ways.

Psychological projection is a defense mechanism in which the ego defends itself against unconscious impulses or qualities (both positive and negative) by denying their existence in themselves by attributing them to others. For example, a bully may project their own feelings of vulnerability onto the target, or a person who is confused will project their own feelings of confusion and inadequacy on other people.

Agree with the OP, it took me a long time to come to the same conclusion about managers at Wells Fargo in tech. Most also don’t have any relevant education or skills.
