It's been stated here that the company takes screenshots of employees computers to see what they're up to. Make sure you cover your camera with a stick it note so if they monitor you they won't catch you half dressed.

Covering cameras don't cover microphones! So be careful what you watch and say at work :)
OP is jumbling up video/camera with screen and keystroke monitoring.
When you log on and in other places like IMs there are reminders that anything you do on a WF computer can be monitored. There's nothing you can do to make that go away.
That's not the same thing as watching you through the camera on your laptop. but if you're at all paranoid about that, you can 100% control it by covering the camera.
If you read the banner message that appears every time you log in, it says that WF has the right to monitor your activity and by continuing to log in, you are giving consent to that monitoring. Nothing illegal about it, and you agreed to it.
Absolutely no on video. They’d never want the culpability.
Screenshots? I guess it’s possible, but you know how inefficient that would be? It’s literally a snapshot in time. Even if you’re doing personal web browsing, what are they going to prove with a screenshot? If they were doing this as a regular protocol, they’d be saving millions of shots every day and paying people to go through and look at them all. They’d also be taking screenshots of customer data, passwords, technical configurations, source code, etc. There’s just no way, and nevermind the idea that you might have 8-10 windows of various things open, but only a couple are actually viewable in a screenshot. Some specific LOBs, such as call centers may well have some additional control, but this isn’t something widespread across the bank.
If you’re doing improper things at work, it’ll all be logged. Emails leave a trail. Web activity is logged. IM history is saved. Systems have logs, the PC has logs.
If you are in a call center, there is a recording of your screens. Outside of that, there is no recording of your screen or key strokes. However...Your chats and emails could have a keyword that is monitored. Big brother isn't watching as much as you think, but he's still there.
Adding to my response: these things are usually done when there are reasons to do so. If you are suspected of inappropriate conduct or something along those lines. I can tell you, that blanket taking of screenshots all day of everyones computer screen (and some people like developers have 2, 3 or 4 screens!) will be quite a drain on our resources.
But rest assured, if you are transferring company's data to an outside network, your entire network traffic and computer activity will be logged.
A screenshot will take an image of your screen.
What you are talking about is capturing the video feed or a picture from your camera. Most likely they won't capture your camera (without probable cause), but they can and might take a picture of what your screen.

Electric tape, masking tape, or painters tape won't fall off as easily, I have an external monitor at home so I close the laptop lid and use the monitor - you can do this as well. I do both.

That doesn't make too much sense. Screen sc-aping, if they could be bothered, isn't much use and I'm sure using the camera to 'spy' on you would have legal ramifications. I'd call BS on it and I'm in IT.
